Abdurrahman Kaan, President of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD), released a congratulatory message on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
Kaan noted the following in his statement:
The sacrifice was commanded to us through the story of Hz. İbrahim.
He who, out of respect for the word he gave to his Lord, deemed it a believer’s duty to dedicate to his Lord that which had been bestowed upon him as a gift.
He who deemed it a disgrace upon himself to doubt the word and the decree of his Lord.
He who counted his Lord’s trial as a mercy for himself, and deemed the power of the trial a path for himself.
He who disregarded all the whisperings of Satan and deemed the One and only command the Truth for himself.
Hz. İbrahim was first given the glad tidings of İsmail. Then, as the outcome of his trial, of the sacrifice that came from paradise. The gift of Hz. İbrahim’s patience, trust and truthfulness became our feast. Our Lord gave him the glad tidings of relief and ease twice after hardship.
Believers are patient. They know that every hardship comes from the Truth and that it is His sublime trial. Let us give thankfulness its due. Let us not sacrifice our trial to rebellion.
Believers are just. They know how to be righteous so that justice may be manifested. Let us give trustworthiness its due. Let us not sacrifice our brotherhood to suspicion.
Believers are measured. They know that wastefulness and squandering will one day cause them to be swept away. Let us give the values in our hands their due. Let us not sacrifice our generations to our ambitions.
Believers are people of contemplation. They know how to distinguish right from wrong. Let us be like the night in covering faults. Let us not sacrifice our peace to our anger and to hatred.
Believers are sincere. They know that a smile is an act of worship. Let us embrace life together. Let us not sacrifice the beauty of our humanity to arrogance.
Believers are equal. Every child of Adam is precious. This feast, let us know the value of our unity and give it its due. Let us not sacrifice our togetherness and our brotherhood to discord.
Let us make this feast an occasion. Let us wipe away all the whisperings, the hatred, the anger, the enmity and the envy within us; the suspicion, the slander, the rust and the falsehood on our tongues; the doubt, the unease and the mistrust in our minds. Let us not sacrifice our society to the narrowness of this age.
Let us share our sacrifices. Let us exchange feast greetings. Let us give its due to Türkiye, the country of benevolence, sincerity, brotherhood, unity, peace and trust.
May our Eid al-Adha be blessed, with the wish that it brings relief and goodness to the entire Muslim world.
Abdurrahman KAAN
President
