Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) President Abdurrahman Kaan released a written statement regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak that began in China and took the whole world under its influence in a short time.

In his statement Kaan noted the following:

In line with the measures taken by our State against the Corona virus disease (COVID-19), which has taken the whole world under its influence, and with the circulars issued for their implementation, each one of us must meticulously fulfil the responsibilities that fall upon us in order to get through this process with the least damage and loss.

In our country, which has displayed a highly successful crisis management amid the outbreak in the world, should this situation continue in the period ahead as well, carrying out the instructions in cooperation and behaving far more carefully and sensitively than ever before, so that we may get through this period with the least damage and loss and preserve our advantageous position, is both our duty as citizens and our responsibility as Muslims.

MÜSİAD, which since its foundation has made it its principle to stand by and support our state and our people at every difficult turning point, regards it as a debt to its nation and its state to place at the service of our national struggle action plan, in this process as well, the advantage provided by its presence in the field and its broad organizational structure.

Acting with this awareness, MÜSİAD has as of today put into operation the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center within the body of the MÜSİAD Head Office, in order to facilitate the applicability of the measures taken at the grassroots level, to create emergency action plans by evaluating the requests, complaints and suggestions arriving from the grassroots, primarily from our members, during this process, to inform our people about the processes and measures, to ensure that economic, commercial and sectoral life continues without interruption and to prevent the possible losses that may occur in our production balance, to convey instant information to the relevant authorities, to create solution sets, to analyse the changes occurring in the global economic architecture on a sectoral and regional basis in the form of strategic action plans, and in this context to determine short- and medium-term road maps.

This Center will also be put into operation in certain Anatolian Branches and Foreign Representative Offices of MÜSİAD in the period ahead. Within the scope of the Center, in order to realize the aims listed above and to ensure that the measures taken by our state in this national struggle are put into practice in the best possible way, we hope to achieve our goals of every kind of information exchange, coordination and joint action with stakeholders through rapid and swift decision-making processes.

All our people, primarily our members, may reach our Center through the MÜSİAD communication line and the communication channels on our website (MÜSİAD Call Center 444 0 893 or MÜSİAD Corporate Telephones 0212 395 00 00). We would like to underline once again that, with our professional staff, our Committees and our Board members, we stand alongside the decision-makers in terms of taking the necessary steps by meticulously processing every kind of information that reaches our Crisis Management Center.
