The Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) Hasbihal Meeting with Members of Parliament was held in the capital Ankara. Coming together with members of parliament as part of the Hasbihal Meeting, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı recalled that MÜSİAD had declared 2022 the "Year of Investment" in order to carry Türkiye's economic power, investment potential, production volume and export vision confidently into the future, to raise the welfare level of our people and to contribute to our country's attainment of its 2023 targets. Emphasizing in his speech that they had implemented the greater part of the 7 strategic targets they set out when they took office, President Asmalı said, "We have full confidence that we will achieve our export targets for new markets with our qualified employment power, our innovative entrepreneurs, our investors and our well-equipped young people."
"We believe in our entrepreneurs, our investors and our well-equipped young people"
Referring in his speech to MÜSİAD's 2022 Year of Investment projection, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı shared his assessments regarding the MÜSİAD Trade Office and the Arab Businessmen Office launched in the new period. In his statement, President Asmalı said, "We believe in our entrepreneurs, our investors and our well-equipped young people."
President Asmalı continued as follows:
"MÜSİAD is moving forward by undertaking very important projects not only for Türkiye's economic and social development but also for its becoming a global player. We are carrying into the future, with determination, resolve and faith, the flag we took over following MÜSİAD's 26th Ordinary General Assembly held on 11 September 2021. In order to carry Türkiye's economic power, investment potential, production volume and export vision confidently into the future, to raise the welfare level of our people and to contribute to our country's attainment of its 2023 targets, we declared 2022 the 'Year of Investment'. And in order to realize our targets one by one, we put our 7-point strategy plan into effect. We designed a comprehensive action plan that includes strengthening MÜSİAD offices in all G-20 countries and increasing commercial diplomacy, establishing the Arab Businessmen Liaison Office, organizing at least one MÜSİAD EXPO Fair abroad, establishing the MÜSİAD International Arbitration Center, supporting micro exports and, in this direction, strengthening the infrastructure processes of each of our members such as logistics, human resources and payment systems, bringing ambassadors and commercial attachés together with business people in Anatolia through economic diplomacy activities, and establishing the MÜSİAD Trade Office (MTO). Praise be to God, we have implemented the greater part of our targets. While our capacity expands horizontally and vertically, our field of activity is steadily gaining depth. The establishment of the MÜSİAD Trade Office and the Arab Businessmen Liaison Office is the most important reflection of MÜSİAD's global vision... We have full confidence that we will achieve our export targets for new markets with our qualified employment power, our innovative entrepreneurs, our investors and our well-equipped young people."
"We will exceed the 250 billion dollar export target set for 2023"
Touching also on Türkiye's coming period, President Asmalı emphasized that the 250 billion dollar export target set for 2023 could easily be exceeded with the right steps. In his assessment, President Asmalı said the following:
"Türkiye, which managed its supply chain processes flawlessly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, is moving forward by reinforcing its strategy of becoming a prominent global crossroads in the context of the logistics sector with its goal of becoming a center of production and investment. The MÜSİAD Trade Office, which has accelerated the process of properly promoting the investment areas in Türkiye and of producing pioneering reports for the development of production fields, is one of the important steps taken along this path... In the near future, by opening up to brand-new foreign markets in export-oriented trade through new national and international collaborations, we will both distinguish Türkiye positively in every field and easily exceed the 250 billion dollar export target set for 2023. In this context, we will continue to produce and place at their service reports containing realistic field information that will guide our business people. The International Arbitration Center, which was brought to life with this belief and outlook, has an important role in enabling Türkiye to stand out by a wide margin in international trade, in strengthening the international growth potential of world trade centered on our country, and in strengthening trade in an efficient environment on the basis of law."
MÜSİAD is engaged in innovative initiatives that support regional development...
Stating that MÜSİAD makes an important contribution to regional development through new projects, President Asmalı used the following words: "Türkiye began 2022 with positive momentum. The realization of the right investments through the right collaborations and their ability to provide added value in the production-export balance is directly proportional to making this action plan sustainable":
"Giving momentum to regional development is among our most important priorities, as much as strengthening Türkiye in the global arena. For this reason, we will support to the very end the enterprises and entrepreneurs that give direction to the development of every city and every region of Türkiye. With our Anatolian Economic Diplomacy approach that supports this vision, we have captured an extremely productive and sustainable synergy. Within the framework of the Anatolian Economic Diplomacy programs we held in Çorum and Kayseri, we brought the Ankara Ambassadors of the United Arab Emirates and Nigeria together with our business people. In the coming period, we will bring together ambassadors from different countries with our business people in Denizli and Mersin. We will continue to make the potential and production capacity of Türkiye's 81 provinces known to new foreign markets and to sign new collaborations. This fruitful wind will be the means for our business people to cross borders. Another of our innovative initiatives that will crown regional development is the Anatolian Production and Investment Movement... Türkiye began 2022 with positive momentum. The realization of the right investments through the right collaborations and their ability to provide added value in the production-export balance is directly proportional to making this action plan sustainable..."
MÜSİAD will hold the 2nd Turkish-Arab Business Summit on 10-13 June and MÜSİAD EXPO 2022 on 2-5 November
In the assessment he made as part of the Hasbihal Meeting with members of parliament, President Asmalı also touched on the IBF 2nd Turkish-Arab Business Summit and MÜSİAD EXPO 2022, and said, "As we move toward the centenary of our Republic, together we will carry our Türkiye, a country of peace and stability, to much greater heights under the strong political leadership of our President. God willing, we will raise the welfare level of our noble nation. We believe this wholeheartedly."
President Asmalı concluded his remarks as follows:
"With the Anatolian Production and Investment Movement, which we launched in order to correctly identify needs, to analyze opportunities and to develop strategies that can carry Türkiye to much brighter tomorrows, MÜSİAD members made 25 billion TL of investment in 2022. With the investments carried out and to be carried out in more than 20 cities and provinces, at 40 different locations, we will rapidly expand and deepen the sphere of influence of the Anatolian Production and Investment Movement. The employment of 25 thousand people as a result of these investments will carry the bar of quality service to far higher points. One of the most important initiatives that will contribute to our export-oriented growth targets is the MÜSİAD EXPO 2022 Trade Fair... Through this fair, we are designing a widespread and sustainable trade network that will unite continents. We are determined to make the production potential of the Anatolian lands known to all four corners of the world. God willing, together we will sow across the face of the earth the seeds of abundance that we have multiplied in the light of our civilization. This year we are moving the Turkish-Arab Business Summit, to be held on 10-13 June, from İstanbul to Gaziantep. Thus, in our export vision, we will be the pioneer of a new order shaped by regional dynamics. MÜSİAD EXPO 2022, planned to be held on 2-5 November, will be instrumental in Türkiye exceeding its export targets with global collaborations and innovative investment opportunities and possibilities. As we move toward the centenary of our Republic, together we will carry our Türkiye, a country of peace and stability, to much greater heights under the strong political leadership of our President. God willing, we will raise the welfare level of our noble nation. We believe this wholeheartedly."
