Abdurrahman Kaan, President of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD), released a written statement following the Local Elections In his statement, Kaan noted the following:
We hope that the results of the Local Elections will bring blessings for our country and our nation.
We congratulate all the mayors who have won and wish all mayors a successful term of office, with an awareness of the vital importance of municipal service in terms of the public's access to services.
In this election too, in which the democratic will was realized with a participation rate reaching %83, our people displayed with great maturity the faith and loyalty they feel towards democracy. At the end of the “31 March Local Elections”, our objective must be directed towards economic stability and development. The completion of public transformations during a 4.5-year period of governance without elections, the clarification of the economic reforms to be put forward after the “New Economic Plan”, the implementation of economic models reshaped along the production-investment-export line, the improvement of the social welfare environment by supporting employment and our country's regaining of its growth trend must be our common goal.
In addition, as the most widespread organization of the business and capital world, we state that we are ready to provide every support within our power so that permanent, long-term and multidimensional structural changes that will make our country a reliable investment environment and trade partner in the field of international competition are implemented as soon as possible. On the path we set out upon saying “Let Our Cause Be Türkiye”, we underline once again that the common call of everyone “whose cause is Türkiye” must be to serve this country with eagerness and enthusiasm.
For Türkiye, which within the changing international economic-political conjuncture will be not the side that accepts and applies the rules being rewritten, but the side that sets the game and determines the rules itself, the time is the time to draw positive lessons from past experiences, to work seriously in the light of knowledge and to produce.
Together with our people, who have not withheld their trust from the People's Alliance, we as MÜSİAD declare once again that we are full supporters of our esteemed President and of the direction he has charted.
May the election results be auspicious and fortunate for us all. We hope that the new period will be a time of surging forward for Türkiye.
