MÜSİAD EXPO 2020, held this year with the slogan ‘Global Trade Is Here’, today hosted President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. President Erdoğan, who received detailed information about MÜSİAD EXPO, which has the distinction of being Türkiye’s first hybrid fair, underlined in his speech the importance of the fair for the country’s economy.

MÜSİAD EXPO, the International Economy, Finance and Trade Summit organized every two years by the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD), is being held at the TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center in 10 halls over an area of 70 thousand square metres.

President Erdoğan, who visited the fair that has the distinction of being Türkiye’s first hybrid fair, received information about the fair.

“We are determined to turn this process into an opportunity”

President Erdoğan, who emphasized the importance of the hybrid fair held in accordance with the Cleanliness, Mask, Distance rule in terms of production, trade, exports and employment proceeding without disruption, underlined that they are determined to turn this process into an opportunity by evaluating the conditions in the most accurate way.

In his speech during the visit, Erdoğan spoke as follows:

“Türkiye has diverged positively even from the world’s most developed countries in the fight against the pandemic and has demonstrated the strength of its infrastructure. We are trying to keep production, exports, trade and employment standing by offering support to every segment in the economy and by mobilizing its resources. We will stand by everyone who sets out with this aim. At this point, we were pleased that MÜSİAD supported its members in difficulty through the Qard al-Hasan fund it established.”

Underlining that they will ensure the acceleration of investments that will produce lasting results in production and employment by mobilizing domestic and international entrepreneurs, Erdoğan said, "We are ready to walk this path together with everyone who believes in Türkiye's strength, potential and future".

In his speech at MÜSİAD EXPO, Erdoğan also gave the information that they are engaged in preparations that will both fortify economic policies, raise the bar of democracy and freedoms, and bring relief to the daily life of the nation.

Kaan: “We are present with all our means and strength in the mobilization you have launched”

MÜSİAD President Abdurrahman Kaan, who said, “Even in these days when the pandemic process still maintains its effect, the EXPO we organize in order to be the language and the bridge of communication of our country’s economy in the fields of trade and investment has this year consolidated its strong brand image not only as the fair with the widest participation during the pandemic period, but also by achieving many firsts”, continued his speech as follows:

At our fair, at which participation with stands was achieved from many countries from Venezuela to Uzbekistan and from Indonesia to Germany, the intense demand from European, Asia-Pacific, Eurasian, African and MENA countries encourages us in terms of supporting our country’s new-period investment policies. Nearly 15 thousand visitors from 125 countries are making their visits physically and millions of participants in the virtual environment as well, and in these days when we are refreshing our national macro policies in the name of production, trade, investment and employment, it makes us happy that we too have our pinch of salt in the soup”

Saying that, with both macro policies and legal reforms, they will do whatever they can for the increase of Türkiye’s production and industrialization power, investments above all, and for its monetary power to settle at the line it deserves, Kaan said, “With the awareness that a country whose economy is not strong cannot protect its gains in other fields, as MÜSİAD we are present with all our means and strength in the mobilization you have launched with a focus on a new stability, growth and employment”.
