MÜSİAD President Abdurrahman Kaan made a written statement regarding Operation Peace Spring, which Türkiye carried out east of the Euphrates.
Kaan stated the following in his statement:
Because of the harsh conditions of the geography in which it is located, Türkiye acts with the goal of being a base of peace in its region by keeping its territorial integrity and border security in the foreground. While the region is being subjected to practices aimed at pushing it further away from peace with each passing day, it is inconceivable for Türkiye, the representative of common sense in the Middle East, to remain indifferent to this situation. The region must attain an environment of tranquility and security as soon as possible. In this scope, the operations aimed at bringing peace and tranquility to the region, which began with Operation Euphrates Shield and continued with Operation Olive Branch, are continuing towards the east of the Euphrates upon the necessity seen by our state.
From the past to the present, the Turkish and Kurdish peoples share a common history and have for centuries lived in unity and solidarity among the peoples. In this context, it is inconceivable for the State of the Republic of Türkiye to display any hostile attitude towards the Kurdish people, together with whom it waged the Struggle of the War of Independence under a common flag.
The clearing of the border line of terrorists and its attainment of security and tranquility is a necessity for the Syrian people, who had to flee an environment of oppression and war and leave their homeland and took refuge in Türkiye, to be reunited with their own lands for which they long. Within the scope of the operation, it is aimed to remove PYD-YPG, the Syrian extension of the PKK, which is also recognized as a terrorist organization by Europe and the USA, from Türkiye's borders. The sole aim of the operation launched by the Turkish Armed Forces is to fulfill the requirement of this state of necessity by preserving Syria's territorial integrity.
As MÜSİAD, we announce to the public that we support the moves of our state and the stance of the political will. On this occasion, we wish success to our heroic Mehmetçik in Operation Peace Spring, and we hope that the operation will bring an environment of peace, tranquility and security to our geography, primarily to the peoples of the region, as soon as possible.
