Abdurrahman Kaan, President of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD), has released a message regarding MÜSİAD’s 30th founding anniversary.

Emphasizing unity, solidarity and brotherhood in his message, Kaan stated the following:

Esteemed MÜSİAD Family,

Thirty years ago, enthusiastic, diligent, faithful and devoted to their cause, 12 young people; came together to work with love for the homeland, on the path of the nation and the ummah. May God be pleased with all of them.

Since those days when the foundations of MÜSİAD were laid, on a difficult, rugged, arduous and long road of 30 years, every single member of this time-honoured family has fulfilled the duties and responsibilities falling to their share with a love of the homeland and the ummah, and handed them over to the next when the time came.

Yet this family took root with such a broad, such a magnificent tradition that every service, every duty, every responsibility was seen not as waiting for retirement but as the handing over of a flag. Praise be to our Lord, who made us the soldiers of such a unique tradition, such a magnificent culture, such a sacred cause.

As we once noted down for history:

“We believe that society will grow rich collectively through people who spend their wealth, their words and their deeds in the right place, who are generous and purified of arrogance”. “We advocate that the effort to make each of our days better than the one before, in a balance at peace with God, with other people, with the whole environment and, of course, with oneself, should be a far more preferable goal”

My Brothers and Sisters,

MÜSİAD was born, grew and took root in the most difficult periods of this homeland, as a part of, a witness to and indeed as Türkiye’s history itself. It stood by its nation at every sharp turn the country passed through. Even in the toughest trials, the MÜSİAD Family managed to stay together by closing ranks. For this reason MÜSİAD grew not merely as a civil society organization, but as a school, a family, a tradition and a love.

In springtime we stood in salute to love

Neither autumn nor winter ends this love of ours

Every May, hope blossoms into the same prayer

Thirty springs on, this love of ours is still fresh

My Brothers and Sisters,

Whenever the shadow of sorrow and pessimism fell upon us, we blossomed anew with the sun of friendship, unity, devotion and brotherhood. There came days when we were struck by coups. There came days when we were tested, amid innuendo, over the independent values of our Muslim identity. At many a meaningless word we smiled and passed on. For a cause set out upon the path of the Truth made us strong through the trial not of the servant but of the Lord. Praise be to the One who brought us to these days. May God be pleased with all who have laboured…

MÜSİAD today, has taken the place it deserves in history as a form of organization rarely matched in the world, one about which books and theses are written, and as a structure unique to itself. In harmony with the spirit of the age and the chemistry of change, yet without conceding an iota of the values that make us who we are, we have continued on our way by constantly renewing ourselves and thus growing stronger.

MÜSİAD today; is recognized across a broad spectrum — from politics to diplomacy, from its industrialists to the worlds of academia, sport and art, from the bureaucracy to professional executives — at every level of society both in our country and in the world, and for each of its stakeholders, as an effective consultation authority, a policy-setting institution, a data centre and, worthy of its name in its breadth, a capital platform, and as such it has been inscribed in history. In our 30th year, praise be to our Lord, who has made us successful in this endeavour.

MÜSİAD, stands as a tradition working not only for the survival of national capital, but for that of our culture, our values and our generations, expanding its structure to this end and taking its place as our state’s most effective stakeholder in the field.

In these difficult days too we have proved this once again. We closed ranks. In hard days we shared one another’s troubles and became the remedy for them. May my Lord never let greeting or good word be absent from among us. May my Lord grant us to return a life as pure as water to its source with an unblemished brow.

May He grant us to exist in unity and solidarity for many more 30 years to come. May He grant us to pass this cause on in its purest form to the generations after us, and grant them to keep it alive with the same love.

May God be pleased with you all.
