A cooperation protocol (MoU) was signed between the Women’s Committee of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) and the Women’s Council of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) with the aim of developing bilateral relations. With the agreement, the parties aim to develop partnership relations in their fields of work and among their members.
The MÜSİAD Women’s Committee, a widespread businesswomen’s organization with nearly 250 businesswomen members, and the TİM Women’s Council, established within TİM with the aim of increasing the number of women represented in the business world and ensuring the integration of women entrepreneurs into business life, have entered into cooperation in order to develop bilateral relations. TİM President İsmail Gülle and MÜSİAD President Abdurrahman Kaan attended the cooperation protocol ceremony together with the members of the parties. The cooperation protocol, which aims to develop partnership relations in joint fields of work and among members, was signed by MÜSİAD Women’s Committee President Müge Öz and TİM Women’s Council Deputy Chairwoman Melisa Tokgöz Mutlu.
Kaan: With this cooperation, women will take a greater place in trade and exports
Speaking at the signing ceremony, MÜSİAD President Abdurrahman Kaan pointed out that TİM carries out work so that Turkish business people engaged in foreign trade can gain a competitive advantage in foreign trade, and that it strengthens solidarity in the business world by contributing to various projects in order to support exporters. Kaan continued his speech as follows: Together with TİM, we are carrying out work aimed at supporting our women entrepreneurs and exporters and enabling them to play a more effective role in the business world. I believe that the agreement signed within this scope will be an extremely beneficial step in terms of women taking a greater place in production, trade and exports in Türkiye; and I hope that this cooperation will be auspicious for our businesswomen, for our business world and for our country,” he said.
Gülle: They contribute to the development of the Türkiye brand
TİM President İsmail Gülle, for his part, emphasized that the protocol signed would make an important contribution to increasing the power of women in the business world. Recalling that, as TİM, they established the TİM Women’s
Council within the Assembly in 2018 in order to increase the number of women exporters and entrepreneurs, Gülle said: “In a very short time the Council has undertaken many important projects, from TİM Women
Export Talks to physical and virtual trade delegations, from the Zero Waste in Exports Project to the TİM Women’s Sustainability Report. Each of our TİM Women’s Council and MÜSİAD Women’s Committee members who are among us today undertakes important work in their companies; they contribute to the development of the Türkiye brand and to value-added exports,” he said.
What does the protocol cover?
With the protocol, the two organizations will support each other in domestic and international activities to be carried out within the scope of cooperation projects. Within the framework of events held abroad, the two organizations will make announcements to their members regarding market research, trade fairs and exhibitions and trade delegation organizations; and will encourage their participation. In addition, the TİM Women’s Council and the MÜSİAD Women’s Committee will develop a meaningful culture of
cooperation in the fields of training, seminars, joint European Union projects, trade delegation visits and bilateral meetings.
Öz: The cooperation between our institutions will grow even stronger
Conveying that the agreement signed will be an important step towards increasing the effectiveness of women in the business world and in foreign trade by further strengthening the cooperation that exists between the institutions,
MÜSİAD Women’s Committee President Müge Öz said: “MÜSİAD, which enables women to demonstrate their presence in the business world in a far more effective and genuine way, assumes an important role with the true respect and support it shows for women’s identity. As MÜSAD Women, we too are working to provide the same understanding for our businesswomen in working life.
With nearly 250 businesswomen members and by completing our women’s committees in each of our branches present in 81 provinces, we aim to become full partners, with all our strength, in our country’s long-term goals, and we are maturing our work and projects to this end.
With the agreement we have signed between the MÜSİAD Women’s Committee and the TİM Women’s Council, I believe that it will be an important step towards increasing the effectiveness of women in the business world and in foreign trade by further strengthening the cooperation that exists between our institutions, and I hope it brings good to both parties and to our businesswomen,” she said.

TİM Women’s Council Deputy Chairwoman Melisa Tokgöz Mutlu, for her part, said: “The TİM Women’s Council was founded in 2018 under the leadership of our President İsmail Gülle, with the vision that every segment of society should take an effective role in exports. As a Council we have grown steadily in this process; with projects in different fields we have said ‘We are in exports too’ with each passing day. We organized TİM Women Export Talks and physical and virtual trade delegations. Under the leadership of Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, we brought the Zero Waste in Exports Project to life. By sharing the TİM Women’s Sustainability Report with the public, we fulfilled our responsibility to our tomorrows. We know that joining forces with different non-governmental organizations and undertaking valuable projects together is of great importance for the future of our exports and our business world. Because we believe that women’s solidarity at the level of civil society coincides with our spirit of national solidarity and with our national goals. Together with the protocol we have signed today, God willing, we will be even stronger from now on.”
