The groundbreaking ceremony for the Cağ Kebap Production and Integrated Meat Facility, which is the first and only one of its kind in Türkiye with a production capacity of 1 million small ruminants, was held in the Oltu Organized Industrial Zone with the participation of our President Abdurrahman Kaan.

The ceremony was also attended by Erzurum Governor Okay Memiş, Metropolitan Mayor Mehmet Sekmen, AK Party Erzurum Deputy İbrahim Aydemir and AK Party Erzurum Provincial Chairman Mehmet Emin Öz.

President Abdurrahman Kaan, who attended the ceremony, stated that they want to make Erzurum a city of gastronomy and used the following words: “What matters is to embrace these investments and to keep their value at the highest level both locally and across the country. In order for regional development to be achieved as well, we as the business world aim to help you in a way that supports you. In this respect, with the facility here we are engaged in work on ‘Gastro-tourism’, a concept we describe as new in Türkiye, and on Turkish culinary arts; likewise, the committee for creating a cultural brand and creating new tourism resources is one of several such initiatives.”

“We need a detailed ‘tourism road map’ and determined implementation policies”

Continuing his speech by referring to Türkiye as one of the world's most important tourism regions, Kaan said: “While we hold great advantages against our competitors in the world, we also see that we are not able to use them sufficiently. Therefore, we cannot fully reveal the tourism potential that our country actually possesses. In order to achieve this, we need a detailed “tourism road map” and determined implementation policies. Unlike many countries, Türkiye has the opportunity to develop its tourism not in a single direction but through different alternatives, thanks to the cultural, historical and natural beauties it hosts. While targeting an increase in the number of visitors to our cities, we must also diversify the reasons for their visits. In other words, we need to multiply our tourism alternatives.”

“It will provide employment for 90 people in the first stage and for up to 400 people in total in the following period”

MÜSİAD Erzurum President Fuat Demir, who hosted the ceremony, said: “We are here for the groundbreaking ceremony of the facility we have brought to our district today for the production of cağ kebap, the patent for which belongs to our Oltu. I thank everyone who accepted our invitation. Our facility, which we aim to complete in one year, will provide employment for 90 people in the first stage and for up to 400 people in total in the following period. In this regard, I extend my sincere thanks to Erzurum Governor Mr. Okay Memiş, Erzurum Metropolitan Mayor Mr. Mehmet Sekmen, the President of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association Mr. Abdurrahman Kaan, who was the originator of the idea of establishing this facility for us, the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution, and everyone whose names I could not mention who contributed to the establishment of this facility.”

The groundbreaking ceremony was then held with the participation of the protocol members. MÜSİAD Erzurum President Fuat Demir presented Oltu stone prayer beads to the protocol members.
