The “Türkiye-China Networking Meeting and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony”, held at the MÜSİAD Head Office on 12 September 2025, brought together the Turkish and Chinese business worlds. Within the scope of the meeting, the MoU signed between MÜSİAD and the Istanbul Chinese Businessmen and Industrialists Association (ICBIA) became an important step aimed at strengthening trade, investment and sectoral cooperation between the two countries.
The programme began with the opening speech of MÜSİAD Vice President Selim Başdemir and the screening of a Multivision film introducing MÜSİAD’s activities. Afterwards, ICBIA President Ms Qian Hou and the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in İstanbul, Wei Xiaodong, delivered speeches on the importance of the day. Halit Döver from ICBC Türkiye, for his part, gave a presentation on “RMB (Chinese Yuan) Applications”.
At the meeting, the business people of the two countries assessed potential areas of cooperation through mutual delegation introductions and a question-and-answer session. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony, the most important part of the day, took place with the participation of MÜSİAD and ICBIA representatives. Following the ceremony, gifts were presented and a family photograph was taken.
The event ended with one-to-one networking meetings between Turkish and Chinese business people. These meetings paved the way for concrete business connections to be established between the senior executives of Chinese companies operating in Türkiye and Turkish companies.
MÜSİAD emphasized that with this strategic cooperation, Türkiye-China economic relations will gain new momentum and that it will continue to offer its members strong opportunities on a global scale.
