MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı and the accompanying MÜSİAD delegation held contacts in New Jersey and New York within the scope of the USA Business Trip. Sharing his assessments regarding the program, President Asmalı stated that they aim for the visit to lay the ground for initiatives that will give momentum to the commercial relations of the two countries.

The MÜSİAD delegation, composed of MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı, IBF President Erol Yarar, MÜSİAD Members of the Board of Directors Davut Altunbaş, Gökhan Yetkin, Hıfsı Soydemir, Halit Kerim, Selim Sar, Abdullah Bozatlı and MÜSİAD Secretary General Dr. Cihad Terzioğlu, held contacts in the US states of New Jersey and New York within the scope of the USA Business Trip Program.

On the first day of the program, President Asmalı, who came together with MÜSİAD members and business people of the region in Paterson, New Jersey, held consultations on business and commercial life in the region. Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh and Prospect Park Mayor Mohammed Khairullah also attended the event, which was organized under the hosting of MÜSİAD USA President Murat Güzel.

Following the meeting, at which MÜSİAD's work was shared and it was emphasized that cooperation would contribute to strong commercial and cultural ties, the MÜSİAD delegation carried out a series of member visits and received information on the work of MÜSİAD members in the region.

Also present at the visit were MÜSİAD America Regional President Ahmet Cihaner, MÜSİAD USA Member Yavuz Orta, MÜSİAD USA Executive Director Jimmy Cüneyd and MÜSİAD Deputy Secretary General Mehmet Çakmak.

A visit to the Turkish House from the MÜSİAD delegation

On the second day of the USA Business Trip Program, the MÜSİAD delegation, which continued its contacts in New York, visited the Consulate General of Türkiye in New York and the New York Chamber of Commerce located in the New York Turkish House building. 

MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı, who came together with Consul General Reyhan Özgür, conveyed that they aim for the visit relating to the USA Business Trip to lay the ground for initiatives that will give momentum to Türkiye-USA commercial relations. President Asmalı also said that the eastern region of the USA offers a great opportunity with its proximity to Türkiye in logistical terms.

Afterwards, President Asmalı, who met with Chamber of Commerce President Mark Jaffe, held consultations on business and commercial life in the region while sharing information on the work and projects MÜSİAD carries out in the national and international arena.

While touring the Turkish House after the meeting, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı emphasized that the complex, opened to service by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in September 2021, makes an important contribution to the promotion of Türkiye with the commercial elements and cultural galleries it houses.

Following the contacts held in the New York Turkish House building, the MÜSİAD delegation came together with Barbaros Karaahmet, Co-Chair of the Türkiye Desk at Herrick Feinstein, one of the long-established law firms of the USA, which has played an important role in the return of many historical artefacts smuggled out of Türkiye, and received information on international arbitration and international law work.

The MÜSİAD delegation also visited Natural Food Group, the company of MÜSİAD USA President Murat Güzel, and listened to a presentation on trade opportunities in the USA, marketing strategies and details in the field of sales.

MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı came together with UN Permanent Representative Feridun Sinirlioğlu

MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı and the accompanying MÜSİAD delegation, who were in New York within the scope of the USA contacts, came together with Ambassador Feridun Sinirlioğlu, Permanent Representative to the United Nations. At the meeting, alongside the organizational work MÜSİAD carries out on a global scale, its vision of diplomatic relations and its commercial diplomacy activities were addressed. 

At the meeting, at which Ambassador Sinirlioğlu conveyed our country's work at the UN General Assembly and its efforts regarding global developments, the importance of the organizational activities and trade diplomacy MÜSİAD carries out on many levels was touched upon, and matters relating to the future of international trade in the light of global developments were discussed.

The MÜSİAD delegation visited the Maarif School in the USA

MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı and the accompanying MÜSİAD delegation continued their intensive commercial and diplomatic contacts with a visit to the Maarif School in New Jersey. The MÜSİAD President, who came together with Maarif Foundation Director Ahmet Celal Özdemir, exchanged views on projects and work in the field of education.

President Asmalı came together with students after the meetings held at the Maarif School in the USA. President Asmalı, who chatted with the students, afterwards played basketball and volleyball with the young people studying at the school.

Afterwards, the MÜSİAD delegation, which carried out a series of member visits in New Jersey, moved on to Delaware and came together with MÜSİAD USA members at the consultation meeting organized under the coordination of the MÜSİAD International Organization Commission.
