MÜSİAD Textile, Leather and Ready-Made Clothing Sector Board Chairman Hayrettin Gümüşkaya announced that important decisions were taken following the meeting held with Deputy Minister of Trade Volkan Ağar within the scope of the Textile Trade Centre Project.

In the assessments made, it was decided to establish a commission composed of the representatives of all relevant institutions, since the project falls within the area of authority of different ministries and institutions. In line with the decision taken, the commission in question will be formed under the chairmanship of Ministry of Trade General Director of Exports Mehmet Ali Kılıçkaya.

While it is envisaged that the project stakeholders will present in detail to the commission the legal and administrative arrangements they request within the scope of the Textile Trade Centre Project, the commission is planned to hold its first meeting on 13 January 2026. It was stated that the final report to be prepared after the completion of the work to be carried out will be submitted to the Presidency by the Minister of Trade.

On the other hand, in order to share the decisions reached after the meeting and to obtain his views, a visit was paid to Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat at his office with the participation of Van Deputies Burhan Kayatürk and Kayhan Türkmenoğlu. At the visit, the strategic importance of the project, the contributions it will provide to the sector and the road map to be followed were addressed.

The MÜSİAD Textile, Leather and Ready-Made Clothing Sector Board aims to increase the export capacity of the sector and to strengthen its production and trade infrastructure with the realization of the Textile Trade Centre Project.
