Applications have opened for the ''Internship Mobilization” programme, launched under the coordination of the Presidency Human Resources Office with the participation of ministries and volunteer employers from the private sector. The announcement published on the website of the Presidency Human Resources Office on the matter is as follows;

The “Internship Mobilization” programme, prepared for university students under the coordination of the Presidency Human Resources Office, in cooperation with our ministries, the institutions affiliated with, related to and associated with our ministries and our volunteer employers from the private sector, and with the support of our Ministry of Treasury and Finance, has been announced at www.yetenekkapisi.org.

It is a necessity for our students to undertake internships during their university education in order to have a successful higher education process and to gain expertise in their fields. However, this year it is observed that our students have difficulty finding internship opportunities due to the pandemic.

In this context, through the project we set out on with the idea that “internships should not stand in the way of graduation”, students entering their final year in formal undergraduate programmes will be given the opportunity to intern at public institutions and organizations and in the private sector.

Application evaluations will be carried out by the Presidency Human Resources Office through merit-based, objective methods, taking into account the work candidates have done and the performance they have displayed from high school through to their final undergraduate year.

Within the scope of the project;

-In the short term, providing support to students who have difficulty finding internship places and completing internships due to Covid-19,

In the long term;

-Extending internship opportunities to all departments rather than limiting them to technical departments requiring compulsory internships,

-Making internship opportunities in the public and private sectors accessible to all university youth,

-Supporting equality of opportunity in access to career opportunities through a transparent, traceable and innovative evaluation method,

-Providing university youth with the opportunity to become closely acquainted with public institutions and their activities,

-Expanding opportunities to intern in the public sector,

-Bringing public institutions and organizations together with talent,

-Increasing the recognition of public institutions among university youth,

-Providing the private sector with access to the “intern pool” created by the Presidency Human Resources Office, where they can monitor the performance candidates have displayed from high school through to their final undergraduate year, thereby making it easier to reach talent in every corner of our country,

-It is aimed to reduce the problems experienced regarding the talent gap by SMEs and start-ups, which are the backbone of our economy, as well as by our national and international companies.

WHO CAN APPLY?

All students who are entering their final year in formal undergraduate programmes and in four-year colleges and who have a grade point average of 2 or above out of 4 (or the equivalent in other systems) may apply to the Internship Mobilization programme.

THE EVALUATION PROCESS FOR CANDIDATES

Candidates applying to the internship programme will be assessed by the Presidency Human Resources Office, Department of Measurement and Evaluation, on the basis of the performance they have displayed from high school through to their final undergraduate year, the work they have carried out to enhance their competencies and the achievements they have obtained, rather than through an examination method measuring instantaneous performance. This method covers three main headings: Professional Competencies, Social and Artistic Competencies, and Sporting Competencies. Under each heading, candidates' knowledge, skills and competencies will be scored on the basis of specific criteria.

PLACEMENT OF INTERNS WITH INSTITUTIONS

As a result of the evaluations carried out, the candidates who qualify to enter the intern pool will be determined. Public institutions and organizations and volunteer companies in the private sector will be granted access to this pool created by the Presidency Human Resources Office. These institutions will be able to select candidates studying in the departments they need from this pool and send them internship offers, while candidates will be able to choose from among these offers the public institutions, organizations and private sector companies that suit them.
