As of 1 July 2020, Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 will also cover the “Less Hazardous Class” with fewer than 50 employees and “Public Institutions”.

The Occupational Health and Safety Law, comprising 39 articles, began to be implemented as of 2013, covering all employers and employees. The part of the law that will come into force on 1 July 2020 concerns the continuous provision of OHS services, through the assignment of an occupational safety specialist and a workplace physician via İSG-Katip, in enterprises operating in the less hazardous class with fewer than 50 employees, as well as in public institutions.

For all institutions of the structure described above, the OHS law obligations, some of whose headings are given below, have in any case been in force since 2013;

1. Provision of Certified OHS Training to All Employees

2. Preparation of an OHS Risk Assessment Report

3. Emergency Plans, Fire and Evacuation Training and Drills (Once a Year)

4. Obtaining of a first-aider certificate by designated persons among the employees

5. Determination, procurement, training and delivery record of personal protective equipment (KKD)

6. Preparation of OHS instructions and procedures

7. Determination of the occupational safety signs that must be used in the workplace

8. Obtaining a pre-employment health report + ambient measurements, engineering controls and other OHS requirements specific to the job and the workplace, etc.

The control and prevention measures to be taken in workplaces within the scope of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, which has emerged as a new risk and emergency throughout the world, also fall within the OHS service area.
