Azerbaijan will promote the economic and investment potential of the regions liberated from Armenian occupation at the "MÜSİAD EXPO 2020 Trade Fair" to be held in İstanbul on 18-21 November.
Azerbaijan will be represented at the fair at the "Karabakh is Azerbaijan" stand to be set up by the Ministry of Economy and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA). The stand will feature photographs and videos reflecting the cultural heritage and the economic and investment opportunities of the regions liberated from occupation, as well as information about Azerbaijan's industrial potential and competitive products.
The "Karabakh is Azerbaijan" stand was designed in the shape of the historic Yukarı Gövher Ağa Mosque in the city of Shusha, regarded as the pearl of Karabakh.
In his statement, KOBİA Chairman Orhan Memmedov said that Azerbaijan, which has liberated its lands from occupation, is living through the most unforgettable period of the country's history.
Recalling that the liberation of the lands that had been occupied by Armenia for nearly 30 years was met with great joy in friendly and brotherly Türkiye as well as in Azerbaijan, Memmedov said, "The liberated lands do not only represent spiritual, historical and cultural value for Azerbaijan; they also possess rich economic potential and great investment opportunities. These areas have rich underground and surface resources, mines and tourism potential. Unfortunately, over the last 30 years Armenia destroyed the infrastructure in these regions and plundered our rich natural resources."
Memmedov reported that life and the economy will revive in the liberated lands, that the infrastructure will be rebuilt and that the state will create the necessary conditions there for business and investment.
Emphasizing that the rich natural resources of the liberated lands will serve Azerbaijan's development and the welfare of the people and will add strength to the country's power, Memmedov said the following:
"In terms of the number of foreign companies operating in Azerbaijan and investment in the non-oil sector, Türkiye ranks first. I am confident that the brotherly country will rank first in investment in the regions liberated from occupation as well. We expect Turkish businessmen to take an active role in the development projects to be carried out in the Azerbaijani lands liberated from occupation, in establishing businesses and in creating employment. In a historic period for our country, as KOBİA we are greatly pleased and proud to present the economic potential and investment opportunities of the Azerbaijani lands liberated from occupation at MÜSİAD Expo 2020. We believe that our stand will be met with interest by visitors and businessmen."
