The Experience Sharing Meeting held at the MÜSİAD Head Office was organized with the presence of our President Mahmut Asmalı, Hasan Büyükdede, Chairman of the Chemicals, Metal and Mining Sector Board Muhittin Can and the board.

At the meeting, held in order to encourage the sharing of experience and knowledge in the field of industry, Hasan Büyükdede emphasized the importance of industry and stated that cooperation and experience sharing are critical for the future of the sector. MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı, for his part, emphasized that the success of the sector is possible through working together and exchanging information. The meeting addressed developments on industrial land, technological advances and production processes.Participants had the opportunity to listen to the strategies and success stories of different businesses.

Sector representatives once again understood the importance of experience sharing and asked that such meetings continue in order to develop future cooperation. During the meeting, the shortage of personnel, an important problem of the industrial sector, also came onto the agenda. Participants dwelled on the difficulty of obtaining qualified labour and the necessity of retaining talented employees.

Hasan Büyükdede explained that the search for solutions to this problem is supported by the government and that new programs are being developed in the field of vocational training.Sector representatives stated that competition in the labour market has increased and that new strategies are needed to attract and retain talented employees. They reached a consensus on the necessity of closer cooperation between employers, educational institutions and government officials.

HASAN BÜYÜKDEDE BROUGHT UP THE RELOCATION OF INDUSTRIALIZATION IN İSTANBUL BECAUSE OF THE EARTHQUAKE

In his speech, he emphasized the necessity of relocating and transferring industrialization in İstanbul taking earthquake risks into consideration. Büyükdede stated that İstanbul is located in an earthquake zone and that for this reason the possibility of a major earthquake always persists. In this context, he expressed that industrial facilities should be reviewed in terms of earthquake safety and relocated when necessary. He also emphasized that, together with the relocation of industrial facilities, they could be rebuilt in a more environmentally sensitive and safer manner, and that damage after an earthquake could thereby be minimized.

Muhittin Can, Chairman of the Chemicals, Metal and Mining Sector Board, presented a gift to Mr. Hasan Büyükdede. Orphan Sponsorship Certificates were presented to the member companies that sponsored the event.
