A Cooperation Protocol was signed between the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) and Marmara University.

The ceremony, held at the MÜSİAD Head Office, was attended by our President Abdurrahman Kaan, Marmara University Rector Prof.Dr. Erol Özvar, MÜSİAD Vice President Mehmet Akif Özyurt, Chairman of the MÜSİAD Academy Public-Industry Cooperation and Project Monitoring Committee Abdulsamet Temel, Chairman of the MÜSİAD Partnership Development and Coordination High Board Hikmet Köse, our Members of the Board of Directors and representatives of Marmara University.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, President Abdurrahman Kaan expressed the pleasure they feel as MÜSİAD at acting in cooperation with Türkiye's leading universities. Emphasizing that last year they had entered into cooperation with Samsun 19 Mayıs University on hemp production and with Ege University on chemistry, aquatic products and industrial agriculture, Kaan said: “We set out on this journey in order to bring together academic work and the power of science with experience. It is very important that academia and the business world join forces to create a common strength. If there is no unity in action, unity of thought is meaningless. Along with our ideas, we are also taking action.”

Recalling that last month they also signed an agreement with Düzce University, Kaan assessed: “Düzce University, which was designated a specialized university in the fields of health and the environment and which makes significant contributions to regional development with its value-added work, has developed more than 30 products within the scope of its specialization process. For the sale of these products it has registered 4 brands under the “DUlife” umbrella brand: “Melenis” for cosmetic products, “Herbynia” for plant products and “ApideVera” for bee products. And we, at Formlife Sağlıklı Yaşam Ürünleri AŞ., established by 50 entrepreneurs from among our members under MÜSİAD Düzce, put the university's products up for sale. In this way we both contribute directly to production and pave the way for our university to achieve even greater things in the future.”

Under the cooperation protocol covering the fields of academia, the public sector and industry, the aim is for the committees within MÜSİAD to work in cooperation with the relevant faculties and departments of the University in their national and international projects and activities, and for the University to provide academic support to the committees within MÜSİAD on these matters.
