MÜSİAD, which has signed cooperation agreements with Türkiye's leading universities, has most recently entered into cooperation with Düzce University
The Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) continues its work within the Academia-Public-Industry triangle without slowing down. MÜSİAD, which in previous periods signed cooperation agreements with Türkiye's leading universities and produced joint projects, has most recently entered into cooperation with Düzce University in line with this strategy.
The signing ceremony held at the Düzce University Social Facilities on Friday, 14 February 2020, took place with the participation of Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Fatih Metin, Governor Dr. Zülkif Dağlı, MÜSİAD Deputy President Ali Reis Topçu, Düzce University Rector Prof. Dr. Nigar Demircan Çakar and Düzce Branch President Vefa Pehlivan.
Düzce University, which was designated as a specialization university in the fields of health and the environment and which makes significant contributions to regional development with its value-added work, developed more than 30 products within the scope of its specialization process. Having registered 4 brands for the sale of these products — “Melenis” for cosmetic products, “Herbynia” for plant products and “ApideVera” for bee products, all under the “DUlife” umbrella brand — the university offers its products for sale at Formlife Sağlıklı Yaşam Ürünleri AŞ., established by 50 entrepreneurs who are members of MÜSİAD Düzce.
The Solution to the Interest Rate Trap Is Developing a Culture of Partnership
Speaking at the signing ceremony held for the use and licensing of the said brands, Ali Reis Topçu stated that the only solution that will free the business world from the interest rate trap lies in the spread of a culture of partnership. Noting that for this purpose they had established a “Venture Capital Fund” as MÜSİAD, Topçu said: “ The fund is an investment method that makes it possible to become a partner, through the fund, in enterprises that have growth and high profit potential and great targets but that face financing difficulties. We need to revive the culture of partnership, which has a place in our trade tradition and which is one of the ways of escaping the trap in which the existing financing sources put our business people.” Therefore, the protocol that we will put into practice by signing here today is an extremely valuable step in this respect.” he said.
Adding that it is a great honour for MÜSİAD to enter into cooperation with Düzce University, Topçu said: “The licences of the 4 brands to which Düzce University holds the licensing rights and which operate in the field of medicinal and aromatic plants will be transferred, through the protocol we will sign today, to the company established by MÜSİAD Düzce members. This is a great source of pride and happiness for us.”
"We Are Implementing a First in Türkiye"
Düzce University Rector Prof. Dr. Nigar Demircan Çakar, for her part, stated that the university has been carrying out very serious work in the field of medicinal and traditional medicine and that this work has now begun to bear fruit.
Stating that the work carried out by the DÜ Coordinatorship for Specialization in Environmental and Health Technologies holds a very important place in Türkiye, Çakar noted the following:
"Here we are implementing a first in Türkiye. I believe that this is an activity that truly produces value and adds value for our region, for our country and for our university."
Formlife AŞ Chairman of the Board of Directors Selahattin Aydın, for his part, stated that they established the company together with 55 Düzce MÜSİAD members in order to provide a market for the university's project.
