The 1st MÜSİAD - ASELSAN Industrialization Event was held at the MÜSİAD Head Office. Speaking at the programme, President of MÜSİAD Mahmut Asmalı stated that Türkiye has further strengthened its strategic position with the defence industry breakthroughs it has achieved in recent years. ASELSAN Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, for his part, emphasized that ASELSAN has a competent and broad ecosystem behind all of its achievements.
The "1st MÜSİAD - ASELSAN Industrialization Event", organized under the coordination of the Defence Industry Sector Board of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD), was held at the MÜSİAD Head Office with the participation of President of MÜSİAD Mahmut Asmalı, ASELSAN Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün and sector representatives.
In the programme, which began with the opening speech of MÜSİAD Defence Industry Sector Board Chairman Fatih Altunbaş, developments in the field of the defence industry were addressed comprehensively and assessments regarding the sector were shared.
Making statements within the scope of the 1st MÜSİAD - ASELSAN Industrialization Event, President of MÜSİAD Mahmut Asmalı said that Türkiye has further strengthened its strategic position with the defence industry breakthroughs it has achieved in recent years.
"Türkiye draws attention with the high-level technologies it develops"
"Türkiye has further strengthened its strategic position with the defence industry breakthrough it has achieved in recent years. While our country draws attention to itself with the high-level technologies it develops, it has attained the capacity to carry out every kind of operation within and beyond its borders without any problems. We believe that as we develop our national defence industry as a leading member of NATO, the world's largest defence pact, our contribution to regional and world peace will also increase. Thanks to its prime contractors that have entered the world's top 100 list, its subcontractors with advanced capabilities, its SMEs, research institutions and universities, our defence industry has now attained a structure that produces its own original products across a wide spectrum. We have become a pioneering country particularly in the design, production and sale of armed unmanned aerial vehicles. In the defence industry, beyond meeting today's needs, investment is being made in the technologies of the future, the vehicles of the future and the products of the future. Ambitious projects are being produced on land, air and naval vehicles operating on the basis of artificial intelligence. We stand out with our domestic and national technologies in every field that will respond to the needs of the future, such as swarm UAVs, unmanned naval vehicles, unmanned combat aircraft, electromagnetic guns, laser weapons and satellite systems. Undoubtedly, these achievements add strength to the building of the Century of Türkiye."
ASELSAN Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, for his part, recalled that ASELSAN is one of the world's 50 largest defence industry companies. In his assessment, Prof. Dr. Görgün said that ASELSAN has a competent and broad ecosystem behind all of its achievements:

ASELSAN, Türkiye's largest and one of the world's top 50 defence industry companies, closed last year with a turnover of TRY 21 billion and placed orders of more than USD 2 billion over the past 2 years. It carried out exports to 80 countries. With close to 10 thousand employees and close to a hundred strategic partners, our ASELSAN continues its work by growing and developing. Of course, these achievements of ASELSAN are not possible with its own internal dynamics alone. I would like to state with pleasure that ASELSAN has a competent and broad ecosystem behind all of its achievements. Each of the products we develop and produce is a product of common wisdom and hard work together with our valuable stakeholders. In terms of its total number of suppliers, ASELSAN is one of the strongest technology and industrial companies in our country. Today it already has more than three thousand suppliers in over fifty cities in many different regions of our country. I can state with pleasure that we met approximately 70 percent of our orders with our domestic suppliers. I express at every opportunity that we work in synergy with all our stakeholders while feeling this wholeheartedly, and we see the results of this synergistic work in the field as well."
