The MÜSİAD Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sector Board carried out branch visits lasting 2 days and covering 4 provinces on 19-20 September.

Within the scope of the branch visits, the Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sector Board carried out a series of visits to the provinces of Erzincan, Erzurum, Bayburt and Gümüşhane. The aim of these visits was to establish direct communication by coming together with our members and the farmers of the region, to assess on site the activities of the branches, agricultural production and the food industry, and to better understand local needs by visiting workplaces.

In Erzincan, the first province visited, a meeting with our members was held with a breakfast programme on Mount Ergan with the participation of Erzincan Deputy Governor Mehmet Emre Canpolat. In the talks held with the branch members who attended the programme, a comprehensive assessment was made of the current situation of the sector, the difficulties encountered in the region and the targets for the future. After the programme, the greenhouse of our member who has moved from Aegean-style greenhouse farming to soilless agricultural production and the poultry farm of Erzincan Deputy President Yaşar Kocatürk were visited. The MÜSİAD Erzincan Branch was visited and a meeting was held with Young MÜSİAD members for a general assessment and briefing.

In Gümüşhane, the second province visited, Mr. Abdülbaki Kara, former President of the MÜSİAD Gümüşhane Branch and currently Mayor of Şiran, was visited in his office. Together with MÜSİAD Gümüşhane Branch President Cihan Canlı and the board of directors, the branch member company Tam Tarım, established by the new generations of a family coming from a hundred-year milling tradition, was visited. While in Gümüşhane there was an opportunity to listen to the experiences of the branch members and to support them, the sincere dialogues held during the visits strengthened unity and solidarity, and an important step was taken towards developing solutions to local problems.

On the second day of the programme, visits were made to the MÜSİAD Bayburt and MÜSİAD Erzurum branches. In Bayburt, the Ethnography Museum of MÜSİAD member Kenan Yavuz, who established in his own village a museum that would strengthen ties with the past, was visited. Afterwards, with the participation of Demirözü District Governor Yasin Şahin, the pestil and köme facilities of our head office sector board member Furkan Ülker were visited. At the MÜSİAD Erzurum Branch, the last to be visited, assessments were made on the agricultural development and the food industry of the region together with Branch President Abdulkerim Kavaz and the board of directors. Afterwards, within the scope of member workplace visits, the Sugar Factory, Seval Şekerleme, Babacan Kuruyemiş and the logistics facilities belonging to MÜSİAD Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sector Board member Mücahit Gül were visited.

MÜSİAD Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sector Board Chairman Cemal Özen emphasized that during the branch visits they were welcomed with the warm and hospitable face of the branch presidents, the board members and our branch members, that this kind of visit will continue and that the views of our members will play an important role in the development of our sector, while with the other visits we have made and will make, we will continue our work in order to better understand the needs of our branches in all regions and to support them. We aim for the knowledge and experience obtained as a result of these visits to contribute to the strengthening of our association and to the development of our members.
