The opening of the exhibition at the MÜSİAD Art Gallery was attended by President of MÜSİAD Abdurrahman Kaan, MÜSİAD Vice President İsrafil Kuralay, Chairwoman of the MÜSİAD Education, Culture and Publications Commission Melike Günyüz and the artist Emire Konuk Közberi, as well as the artist's friends and admirers.
Speaking at the opening, President of MÜSİAD Abdurrahman Kaan said that MÜSİAD is a civil society organization that, besides the fields of economy and industry, has undertaken many projects in fields such as education, sports, culture and art and carries out work for the development of these branches.
Drawing attention to the fact that they have been carrying out activities for the spread of Turkish culture and for it to gain prestige in the social sphere, Kaan said: "In this direction, we first brought the 'Şimdi ve Sonsuzluk' exhibition of our esteemed artist Emire Konuk Közberi together with art lovers at MÜSİAD. In the period ahead we will continue our exhibition activities. On this occasion, I extend my thanks to everyone who contributed to this exhibition."
80 Percent of the Exhibition Proceeds to Syrian Children
Artist Emire Konuk Közberi, in her statement, conveyed that in her works she tries to express the eternity in time and space and the conceptual and emotional modes of perception of the human mind, and used the following words: "We live life in pieces, we live in the moment, but we often lose its connection with the whole. When we capture the connection with the whole, awareness arises and we begin to live ourselves. I wanted to draw attention to this."
Stating that 7 works are included in the exhibition, Közberi expressed that in 3 works she addressed the emotions experienced in the sema ceremony, and in the others eternity, oneness and the relationship between concept and emotion.
Expressing that works with abstract, philosophical and conceptual depth await art lovers, the artist emphasized that they would donate 80 percent of the exhibition proceeds to Syrian children and continued her words as follows:
"I have opened exhibitions in different places in different years. I do not plan much while producing the works; after making them I generally interpret them through my own life and my view of art. My works are like coffee fortune-telling; a coffee fortune forms by itself, and the more you look, the more you interpret."
Chairwoman of the MÜSİAD Education, Culture and Publications Commission Melike Günyüz, for her part, drew attention to the fact that in past years the association published reports on culture and art activities, and said: "We designed this building as a spacious venue so that MÜSİAD would also have a contribution to the world of culture and art. We opened our first exhibition with a somewhat different concept. We tried to make today's exhibition in a way that evokes the spiritual journey of modern man in contemporary art."
The exhibition can be visited until 11 May.
