A panel programme titled “How Can I Reduce My Energy Costs?” was organized by the Mining and Energy Management Committee of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD).

The event was attended by President Abdurrahman Kaan, Chairman of the MÜSİAD Mining and Energy Management Committee Dr. Cihad Terzioğlu, Chairman of the MÜSİAD Renewable Resources and Waste Management Committee Gökhan Yetkin, Deputy Chairman of the MÜSİAD Mining and Energy Management Committee Altuğ Karataş and President of the Türkiye Section of the International Solar Energy Society (GÜNDER) Kutay Kaleli. 

A Major Transformation Is Under Way in Energy

Speaking at the programme, President Kaan pointed out that there is no obstacle before Türkiye to compete with its rivals in the world in the field of renewable energy and said, "As industrialists, it is now time to act on access to renewable energy resources and their efficient use."

Kaan said that the efficient use of resources has come up for discussion as energy consumption has increased all over the world in recent years. Stating that the world is today experiencing a transformation in the energy sector, Kaan used the expression, "Meeting energy needs largely from renewable energy rather than from fossil resources is one of the most important aspects of this transformation."

It Is Now Time to Act

Pointing out that MÜSİAD encourages industrialists to produce their own electricity, Kaan made the following assessment: "Today, by installing systems that pay for themselves within 4-5 years, we can achieve this very comfortably with alternative energy sources. Moreover, we say that producing is not enough. Let us also manage this resource in the most correct way. Because the population of the world is growing. Let us multiply the efficiency we obtain so that we can bring our costs down. Thus, as industrialists, we can reduce, even if only somewhat, the heavy burden we shoulder."

Pointing out that there is no obstacle before Türkiye to compete with its rivals in the world in the field of renewable energy, Kaan said, "As industrialists, it is now time to act on access to renewable energy resources and their efficient use."

Information Provided on Achieving Energy Efficiency and on Opportunities

Chairman of the MÜSİAD Mining and Energy Management Committee Cihad Terzioğlu, for his part, said that they carry out work to explain energy efficiency to industrialists and commercial enterprises, to show concrete implemented examples and to share their outcomes.

Delivering a presentation titled “Energy Efficiency through Digitalization” at the programme, Terzioğlu made statements on the topics of “Energy Monitoring” and “Energy on Live Broadcast”. 

Also sharing his assessments on Instant Electricity Quantity and Cost, Instant Consumption and Efficiency, ERP Integration and Remote Efficiency Study, Terzioğlu provided information on Energy Efficiency.

Deputy Chairman of the MÜSİAD Mining and Energy Management Committee Altuğ Karataş, on the other hand, delivered a presentation on Energy Efficiency Applications and Financing Methods. 

Providing information on Energy Efficiency and Energy Studies in his speech, Karataş offered saving recommendations within this scope, informing about systems such as lighting systems, cooling systems and compressed air.

Also providing information on the opportunities and regulations concerning energy efficiency, Karataş shared his assessments on the supports and incentives offered by the state.
