The MÜSİAD Chemicals, Metal and Mining Sector Board held an important meeting to evaluate Türkiye's potential and problems in the field of mining. The meeting was attended by İTÜ (İstanbul Technical University) Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Mines Prof. Dr. Mustafa KUMRAL and İTÜ Faculty of Mines Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan TUNÇDEMİR. The meeting was hosted by Chemicals, Metal and Mining Sector Board Chairman Muhittin CAN, Sector Board Mining Working Group and Vice Chairman Emrullah YEDİKARDEŞ, and the board members.
The main agenda item of the meeting was the current situation of Türkiye's mining sector, the difficulties encountered and the determination of strategies for the future. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kumral and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan TUNÇDEMİR shared the latest developments in the field of mining and their academic perspectives, and made proposals for making the sector more sustainable and efficient.

Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kumral emphasized that Türkiye has rich mineral resources and stated that these resources must be utilized effectively and in an environmentally sensitive manner.
