An investment conference and sector-focused investor–company meetings were held in the city of New York in the United States in cooperation between the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) and J.P. Morgan Chase. In addition to Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, representatives of Turkish public institutions and MÜSİAD members attended the program.
While the program organized in New York in cooperation between MÜSİAD and J.P. Morgan was held with the participation of Mr. Mehmet Şimşek, comprehensive contacts focused on investment and financing were established within the scope of the meetings held at J.P. Morgan's headquarters in New York.
At the sectoral round-table meetings held before the conference, MÜSİAD member companies operating in strategic sectors, above all the defence industry and shipyards, came together with the managers of the relevant units of J.P. Morgan and made detailed assessments. At the same time, real sector representatives participating from the food, construction, machinery, services, agriculture and automotive sectors also had the opportunity to receive information directly on the global investment dynamics in their own fields and to evaluate cooperation possibilities.
In the meetings held, MÜSİAD member companies presented their investment projects, growth targets and future perspectives directly to international investors, while qualified bilateral business meetings were held on the axis of securing investment and financing.
In the continuation of the program, the investment conference session was held with the participation of Minister Mehmet Şimşek. In his speech, Şimşek made comprehensive assessments regarding the macroeconomic outlook of the Turkish economy, financial stability, the process of combating inflation and sustainable growth targets. Stating that Türkiye maintains its strong growth performance despite global economic and geopolitical developments, Şimşek drew attention to the structural advantages that strengthen the investment climate.
Emphasizing the importance of this model, which brings real sector representatives together directly with investors, Şimşek thanked MÜSİAD and the participating companies and pointed out the importance of increasing similar, more focused and more sustained activities.
As the Türkiye delegation, President of MÜSİAD Burhan Özdemir and MÜSİAD Vice President Selim Başdemir, as well as senior executives from Türkiye's leading companies, attended the program.
In his assessment of the program, President of MÜSİAD Burhan Özdemir stated that the macro balances, financial stability and growth vision of the Turkish economy were addressed comprehensively, and said, “We believe that these meetings, at which our real sector representatives establish direct contact with global investors, will contribute to our country's investment climate.”
Touching also on the contacts made with members from different sectors within the scope of the program, Özdemir said, “We had the opportunity to share our companies' investment projects, growth targets and future perspectives with international investors. At the same time, we found the opportunity to share our country's investment potential and the strength of our real sector directly with international financial circles.”
This comprehensive program, held with limited participation, is expected to make significant contributions to the deepening of Türkiye–US economic relations, to the increase of investment cooperation and to the integration of the Turkish business world with global financial circles.
While the organization held stands out as one of the effective and distinctive examples in which real sector representatives establish direct contact with international investment circles, it is aimed to contribute to a stronger presentation of Türkiye's investment potential on a global scale.
