KOSGEB has also joined the measures taken to limit the effects of the coronavirus outbreak on the world of work and especially on small and medium-sized enterprises. KOSGEB has developed a "Triple Protection Package" to combat the effects of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The “triple protection package”, announced by Minister of Industry and Technology Mr. Mustafa Varank and reported to serve as a shield for SMEs against the coronavirus (COVID-19), has been put into effect through KOSGEB with a three-pillar plan. The information provided by the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association(MÜSİAD) to its members on the subject is as follows:

“KOSGEB has developed a "Triple Protection Package" to combat the effects of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The triple protection package that will serve as a shield for SMEs against the coronavirus (COVID-19) was announced by Minister of Industry and Technology Mr. Mustafa Varank, and it was announced that a three-pillar plan has been put into effect through KOSGEB, the relevant institution.

Within the scope of the COVID-19 shield for SMEs;
• Receivables will be postponed for 3 months.
• Projects will be extended by 4 months.
• Additional support will be provided for the production of protective health products.

Within the framework of the package:
• New products have been added to the product list covered by KOSGEB's TEKNOYATIRIM Support Programme. Enterprises producing items such as disinfectant, protective clothing, protective goggles, masks and gloves with domestic resources will be able to benefit from KOSGEB's TEKNOYATIRIM Support Programme until the official authorities announce that the epidemic risk has been eliminated. KOSGEB boards will take decisions faster than usual and determine the projects to be supported within a short time. Payments will also be made promptly.
• Under the supports granted by KOSGEB on a repayable basis, receivables due until 30 June 2020 will be postponed. The payments SMEs are required to make to KOSGEB until 30 June 2020 will be deferred by 3 months. The number of instalments will not change. No statutory interest will be charged either. SMEs that previously benefited from decisions to postpone KOSGEB receivables will also be able to benefit from this decision.
• Enterprises required to fulfil their project period obligations or entrepreneurship programme obligations on and after 11 March 2020 will be granted up to 4 months of additional time. Thus, projects will not be interrupted. The decision process will be accelerated, and an extension of time will be provided immediately, whenever needed, to SMEs that request it, without the need for a new board decision.
