A business trip programme to India was organized on 14-18 October 2019 in partnership with MÜSİAD, Turkish Airlines (THY), the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) and the Confederation of Indian Industry

The Indian Chamber of International Business and MACCIA- Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture also gave their support to the programme. Within the scope of the visit, which continued for four days, organizations such as a business forum, B2B meetings, visits to the country’s leading institutions and a city tour were held, and important commercial connections were established between Türkiye and India.

Tevfik Dönmez, Chairman of the MÜSİAD Foreign Relations Committee, who led the delegation on the business trip organized to India, made the following assessments regarding his impressions of the trip:

“In the “Türkiye-India Business Forum” programme, which we held for the first time, we briefed Indian businesspeople on MÜSİAD’s work, projects and activities. Through the lobbying efforts we carried out concerning our activities, we contributed to MÜSİAD’s coverage in the local and national press.

With the participation of our Consul General in Mumbai Ali Tolga Kaya and our Commercial Attaché Hüseyin Aydın, we signed a Momerandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICIB (Indian Chamber of International Business) and MACCIA ( Maharastra State Chambers Union ), which are among India’s leading organizations. With this 4th agreement we have signed with ICIB within two years, we made an important contact on behalf of Mumbai and its sister city Mersin.

Information Was Given About Wedding Tourism

During the trip we also ensured the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry [MTSO] and ICIB.

We paid a visit to the MUMBAI World Trade Centre. There, our MÜSİAD Karaman Branch President İbrahim Taşbaşı gave information about the Apple, our new export product to India. We also made important presentations about the opportunities Türkiye offers regarding “Wedding Tourism”, which is popular today.”

In addition, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mersin Chamber of Industry Ayhan Kızıltan, Assembly Chairman Hamit İzol, assembly members, and distinguished businesspeople from Türkiye took part in the programme.
