The MÜSİAD Chemicals, Metal and Mining Sector Board came together with faculty students at an iftar program within the scope of the sector report work carried out with the İstanbul Technical University (İTÜ) Faculty of Mines. Around 500 students, academics and members attended this gathering, held in the spiritual atmosphere of the month of Ramadan.
The program was attended by MÜSİAD Chemicals, Metal and Mining Sector Board Chairman Muhittin CAN, Deputy Chairman and Head of the Mining Working Group Emrullah YEDİKARDEŞ, and sector board members. In addition, İTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL, Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Mines Prof. Dr. Mustafa KUMRAL, and Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan TUNÇDEMİR also honoured the program and conveyed their thanks to the MÜSİAD family for the contributions they made to the sector report work.
In the talks held before the iftar, current developments in the field of mining, sectoral needs and academic studies were discussed, while attention was drawn to the importance of the sector report that was prepared. It was emphasized that the findings and recommendations in the report would contribute to the development of the sector, and it was stated that the role of the students in this process is critical.
MÜSİAD Chemicals, Metal and Mining Sector Board Chairman Muhittin CAN noted the following in his speech at the program:
“As MÜSİAD, we attach importance to strengthening industry-academia cooperation and to giving our students sectoral experience. We take great pride in coming together with the students of the İTÜ Faculty of Mines and in contributing to their vision for the future. Coming together on this beautiful occasion in the blessed month of Ramadan will remain in our memories as a precious moment for us.”
