As the MÜSİAD Chemicals Sector Board, we successfully held our Muğla Regional Meeting. The opening speeches of the program were delivered by MÜSİAD Muğla Branch President Nevzat Aykaç and Chemicals Sector Board Chairman Emre Baş.

In the continuation of the meeting, a presentation titled “Chemicals Sector and Muğla Region Agricultural Integration Strategy Report” was delivered by Chemicals Sector Board Vice Chairman Oktay Köse.

Within the scope of the presentation, Muğla’s citrus production potential was evaluated and information was provided about the value-added products that can be obtained from citrus peels and the areas in which these products are used in the production of chemical raw materials.

In addition, the region’s seaweed cultivation potential was addressed; comprehensive information was shared about the high value-added chemical products that can be obtained from seaweed and are used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.

It was emphasized that the products included in the presentation are investment areas that are not currently produced in our country, that can reduce dependence on imports and that can create high added value.

At the meeting, assessments were also made regarding the integration of the natural resources of the Muğla region into the chemicals industry, bringing the by-products obtained from agricultural production into the economy and creating new business areas.

In the continuation of the program, productive consultations were held with our members on current developments in the sector, regional opportunities and cooperation possibilities.
