The General Assemblies of MÜSİAD Cologne and MÜSİAD United Kingdom were held with the participation of MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı. As a result of the General Assemblies, Yunus Arslan was elected President of the MÜSİAD Cologne Branch and Murat Bingöl President of the MÜSİAD United Kingdom Branch.

Handovers of duty took place at the MÜSİAD Cologne and MÜSİAD United Kingdom branches. As a result of the General Assemblies held with the participation of MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı and the members of the MÜSİAD Board of Directors, Yunus Arslan was elected President of the MÜSİAD Cologne Branch and Murat Bingöl President of the MÜSİAD United Kingdom Branch.

In the first part of MÜSİAD's Germany and United Kingdom programme, the MÜSİAD Cologne General Assembly was held with the participation of President Mahmut Asmalı, Cologne Consul General Turhan Kaya, Düsseldorf Consul General Ayşegül Gökçen Karaarslan, Münster Consul General Ahmet Faik Davaz, Essen Consul General Sezai Tolga Şimşir, İstanbul Deputy Zafer Sırakaya, representatives of the business world in the region and MÜSİAD member business people.

President Asmalı, who within the framework of the programme also visited the Cologne Consulate General and the Head Office of the Islamic Community Millî Görüş, held consultations with Consul General Turhan Kaya and Islamic Community Millî Görüş President Kemal Ergün on MÜSİAD's activities in the region and on commercial life.

President Asmalı, who also came together with member business people hosted by the MÜSİAD Cologne branch, later visited MÜSİAD member Hatex Group and received information about its work from Hatex Manager Burhan Asan.

"Türkiye plays an important role in trade with both Germany and the European region"

Making assessments about the contacts in Germany ahead of the trip to the United Kingdom, President Mahmut Asmalı emphasized the importance of the work of Turkish business people and said: "Türkiye plays an important role in the trade conducted with both Germany and the European region. As MÜSİAD, by increasing the number of our business people within the EU, we want to contribute more to both regional and inter-country commercial relations."

President Asmalı wished success to Yunus Arslan, who was elected President of the MÜSİAD Cologne Branch as a result of the MÜSİAD Cologne General Assembly, and also thanked outgoing Branch President Bahattin Yılmaz for his contributions.

After the contacts in Germany, the MÜSİAD delegation, which travelled to London for the MÜSİAD United Kingdom General Assembly, visited MÜSİAD members Vehbi Keleş at the Gima Grup factory and Mehmet Demir at the Modern Paper facilities, and received information about their work.

Coming together with MÜSİAD United Kingdom members hosted by the Yunus Emre Institute in London, President Mahmut Asmalı held consultations on commercial life in the region.

MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı and the members of the MÜSİAD Board of Directors then attended the MÜSİAD United Kingdom General Assembly. 

"Türkiye acts with a 'people first' approach"

In his assessment at the MÜSİAD United Kingdom General Assembly, President Asmalı touched upon the commercial relations between Türkiye and the United Kingdom and underlined that Türkiye is in a key position in the energy crisis that has taken Europe under its influence. 

President Asmalı emphasized that regional conflicts and global crises have further increased the importance of cooperation between countries in the new period, and said that MÜSİAD would do its part to further strengthen commercial relations between Türkiye and the United Kingdom.

The MÜSİAD President also referred in his statement to Türkiye's role in the grain crisis, saying: "With its role in establishing peace at the regional and global level and as a mediator, Türkiye is achieving one diplomatic victory after another under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. At the point reached today, we see a Türkiye that acts in a solution-oriented, constructive manner and with a 'people first' approach. As MÜSİAD, alongside commercial diplomacy, we are also contributing to our country's work in the humanitarian field and thus sustaining humanitarian diplomacy."

President Asmalı also wished success to Murat Bingöl, who was elected President of the MÜSİAD United Kingdom Branch as a result of the MÜSİAD United Kingdom General Assembly, and thanked outgoing Branch President Mustafa Demir for his work.

After the MÜSİAD United Kingdom General Assembly, the MÜSİAD delegation came together with Türkiye's Ambassador to London Ümit Yalçın and exchanged views on MÜSİAD projects and on commercial life in the region.

Within the framework of the United Kingdom programme, the delegation, which also visited the MÜSİAD United Kingdom office, listened to a presentation on regional trade opportunities and evaluated the steps that could be taken to strengthen commercial relations between the two countries.
