The MÜSİAD Diplomatic Relations Committee is preparing to sign MoUs with 20 new counterpart organizations from 4 continents at the MÜSİAD EXPO Fair to be held at TÜYAP on 18 – 21 November 2020 this year.
Since its foundation, the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) has signed 190 MoUs / Letters of Good Will – Memoranda of Understanding with various commercial organizations and businessmen's associations in 73 countries. Signing MoUs with 20 new counterpart organizations from 4 continents, led above all by the African continent, and ensuring the continuity of commercial cooperation in a sustainable manner by strengthening it were determined as the main goal at MÜSİAD EXPO, to be held at the TÜYAP Fair and Congress Centre on 18-21 November 2020.
MÜSİAD Board of Directors Member and Diplomatic Relations Committee Chairman Zeki Güvercin made the following statements about the event to be held at MÜSİAD EXPO 2020;
The “Letters of Good Will / Memoranda of Understanding” signed in the international arena, above all with the businessmen's organizations of countries, make an important contribution to mutual cooperation and to the development of trade in improving bilateral relations. Your partner in the country with which you have a memorandum puts you on its list and includes you in the talks during an important trade mission, an investment delegation or initiatives to increase bilateral trade potential. When used actively, bilateral and trilateral good will cooperation agreements serve as an important bridge. Good will in these agreements carries the meanings of: yes, I am focusing on developing cooperation with you in commercial terms. I am making this an important item on the agenda. Within this framework I will remain faithful to my good will and do what is required.
When we look at history, one of the most famous MoUs is the letter of good will between America and Russia that we know as nuclear disarmament. The next 3 years are very important. The efforts to strengthen our trade and to grow our exports further, and to increase commercial activity abroad as much as at home so that opportunities can be seized, make it necessary to build a good infrastructure and a good perception in this field. The Turkish economy, which has developed and grown especially over the last 20 years, has opened important doors of opportunity for many of our small and medium-sized enterprises. Our producers and business people now do business and trade not only in classical markets but in different regions in all four corners of the world. However, the shrinking world economy and increasing competition now require working more actively than ever.
MÜSİAD, Türkiye's largest and most comprehensive business people's organization, carries out work to create business opportunities in different countries of the world on behalf of its members. At this point, a global business network has been formed with our branches and representative offices at 225 locations around the world. In addition, business opportunities are offered to our members by developing cooperation with important institutions of the business world in different countries.
The goal with the MoU cooperation agreements concluded within the MÜSİAD Diplomatic Relations Committee is to identify the counterpart organizations that will create these opportunities for us, to sign MoU agreements with these institutions and to plan, through the talks to be held subsequently, organizations that will deepen the cooperation.
