MÜSİAD, which continues its work for the development of Türkiye, for the establishment of peace in its region and for the prevalence of social peace in our country, has built a mosque for our Mehmetçik soldiers at the Diyarbakır Silvan Gendarmerie Commando Regiment Command.
The mosque built by the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) at the Gendarmerie Commando Regiment Command in the Silvan district of Diyarbakır was opened for worship with a ceremony. The ceremony was attended by MÜSİAD President Abdurrahman Kaan, Governor of Diyarbakır Hasan Basri Güzeloğlu Gendarmerie Regional Commander Major General Halis Zafer Koç, Silvan District Governor Adem Çelik, Provincial Police Chief Tacettin Aslan, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Mustafa Başoğlu, Provincial Mufti Yavuz Selim Karabayır, members of the MÜSİAD Board of Directors, representatives of institutions and non-governmental organizations, and citizens.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Abdurrahman Kaan expressed the happiness he felt at the opening of the mosque. Kaan said, “ The Turkish Nation is the nation that best knows the sanctity of the homeland and the value of every inch of it. Even though the people of this land have faced grave threats and merciless attacks throughout history, they have shown the whole world time and again what the defence of the homeland means. This homeland is ours; we have eliminated every threat aimed at dividing these lands or breaking our national unity with the strength of our army and the will of our nation, and from now on we will do so without a moment’s hesitation. Coming from a tradition that does not distinguish one human being from another, under the common roof of “humanity” and with the consciousness of brotherhood, the Turkish Nation has always existed with an unmatched devotion to its language, its religion, its culture and its civilization. Our Mehmetçik soldiers, raised by Anatolia and born from the heart of the Turkish Nation, are the honourable representatives of our nation’s spirit of unity and of its belief in brotherhood and peace. Today, here inside the barracks, we are holding the opening of this beautiful mosque that we, as MÜSİAD members, have built with the support of the Kopuzlar Foundation. “The mosques of Allah shall be maintained only by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, perform the prayer, give the alms and fear none but Allah. It is they who are expected to be among the rightly guided.” If we are able to serve this verse (At-Tawbah 18), there is no greater happiness for us than this,” he said.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Governor Güzeloğlu stated that the fact that the mosque is located within the Regiment Command increases its spiritual significance even further. Güzeloğlu noted the following:
"MÜSİAD is an organization that regards the construction and revival of our own core values as its duty and that aims to develop on moral values while carrying out commercial activity. Know that all riches come to an end. What is meaningful is to achieve a development built upon these spiritual values that make a human being human and keep society standing, and to make it permanent. The contribution made here is commendable and exemplary. On this occasion I once again congratulate the MÜSİAD family present here. May God grant you lawful, blessed and abundant earnings in your work."
Following the opening, a prayer was performed in the mosque.
