The Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) is expanding the scope of the boycott against Israel and emphasizing digital independence. In line with this, through the Domestic Software and Cyber Power Türkiye Workshop to be organized, it will encourage the public to use domestic software.
Voices continue to be raised from all over the world against the policy of violence implemented by Israel, which has led to the killing of tens of thousands of Palestinians and to the lives of the surviving Palestinians becoming harder with each passing day. Despite the support given by western countries that back Israel's genocide, every day thousands of westerners take to the streets to protest both Israel and their own states that support this violence.
In Türkiye, which leads the countries standing by Palestine in unity as both state and nation, product and brand boycotts continue. While every sector boycotts Israeli and pro-Israel brands in its own field, the information technology sector has also been voicing this boycott since the very first day. In particular, the world's largest technology companies, which announced their support for Israel through their websites from the very first day, faced serious reaction both within the information technology sector and from companies that receive services from the information technology sector. These reactions also brought with them the concepts of “a return to domestic software” and “Digital Independence”.
The Digital Transformation Sector Board of MÜSİAD, the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association, one of Türkiye's most important business and civil society platforms, which has been informing the public on the subject since the very first day of the process, is preparing to organize a workshop under the title DOMESTIC SOFTWARE AND CYBER POWER TÜRKİYE, bringing together all the stakeholders in Türkiye so that these boycotts do not remain temporary but establish Türkiye's digital independence for good.
Speaking about the workshop, MÜSİAD Digital Transformation Sector Board Chairman Taha Çiftci explained their aims as follows: “This workshop is being organized in order to discuss the important steps in the digital transformation process and to shape Türkiye's technological future. We await all the stakeholders of the sector at the workshop we are organizing in order to give direction to Türkiye's digital transformation and to reduce external dependence in technology by increasing the production of domestic software and cyber security products.”
The MÜSİAD Digital Transformation Sector Board, which will also follow up the results of the workshop and whether implementation is carried out during the process, will share developments with the public frequently.
