MÜSİAD, in cooperation with the Yetim Foundation, will provide support to children deprived of family protection through the Orphan Sponsorship Support System.
The Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) is becoming a sponsor to 12,000 orphans through the Orphan Sponsorship Support System brought to life in cooperation with the Yetim Foundation. Within this scope, MÜSİAD members will provide support to children deprived of family protection through the Orphan Sponsorship Support System.
Because of regional and global wars, natural disasters, accidents and epidemic diseases, millions of children across the world are left orphaned. According to international data, approximately 10,000 children lose their families every day. One of the most fundamental causes of being orphaned is war. While more than 218,000 child labourers try to sustain their lives in different regions of the world, in Europe alone more than 110,000 children are missing.
The Yetim Foundation, which carries out activities for orphans, maternal orphans and social orphans left unprotected in the world, is signing a joint movement of goodness with MÜSİAD. MÜSİAD members have decided to become sponsors to 12,000 children through the Orphan Sponsorship System, in which the needs of an orphan are supported.
Within the scope of the orphan sponsorship certificate “Touch the Heart of an Orphan, Let the World Take Wing Towards Goodness”, MÜSİAD members will meet the education, health, food and clothing needs of 12,000 orphaned children. MÜSİAD members joined the system by making the first monthly subsistence payments of the orphans. A sponsorship certificate was presented to the businessmen who take care of each orphan.
MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı, who brought to life the Orphan Sponsorship Certificate initiative in which the needs of an orphan are met, launched the project by becoming a sponsor to 10 orphans.
