The 23rd MÜSİAD Education Achievement Award Ceremony organized by the MÜSİAD Karadeniz Ereğli Branch was held with the participation of President Abdurrahman Kaan

Abdurrahman Kaan, President of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD), attended the “23rd MÜSİAD Education Achievement Award Ceremony” program organized by MÜSİAD Karadeniz Ereğli on Thursday, 13 June.

The ceremony was attended by MÜSİAD President Abdurrahman Kaan, Governor of Zonguldak Erdoğan Bektaş, District Governor of Kdz. Ereğli İsmail Çorumluoğlu, Board of Directors member of the Board of Education of the Ministry of National Education Hüseyin Korkut, mayors, representatives of political parties, representatives of NGOs, numerous businessmen, students, teachers and parents.

Special Importance Given to Education

Speaking at the program, President Kaan congratulated the students who received awards in the competitions held at 30 schools.

Stating that as MÜSİAD they attach great importance to education and have undertaken many projects in this sense, Kaan spoke as follows:

“As MÜSİAD, we have advocated vocational education since the day we were founded. We express it at every opportunity: vocational education and specialization are of great importance for the future of Türkiye. In this context, by organizing the Vocational Education Workshop for the first time in Türkiye in February 2011, we assessed the problems of “vocational education” and their solutions, and shared the outputs obtained with all stakeholders.

In addition to this, taking yet another concrete step, in 2017 we brought the MÜSİAD Bağlarbaşı Marketing and Retail Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School to our country in İstanbul.

Likewise, this past February, within the scope of the “sponsor school” project, we held the opening of the Furniture and Design Department of the Atalar Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in the district of Kartal.

We are also carrying out cooperation efforts with our state's leading institutions and organizations in the field of education. In this context, we signed a “Cooperation Protocol” with the Türkiye Maarif Foundation for the purpose of carrying out national and international projects as well as social and cultural activities, providing support to educational and commercial activities, and sharing experience and knowledge.”

The Sine Qua Non of Competitiveness: Innovative Products

Drawing attention in his speech to the need to develop innovative products in order to have a say in the future, Kaan said, “ In order to succeed and walk towards the future with confident steps, we will develop innovative products, and by producing them with our own equity capital and our own human resources we will sell them to the world, so that we can show development not only at the economic level but also in social and communal spheres. To this end, together with our state and our private enterprises, we must turn towards the fields of education, science and technology, increase our investments and rise as soon as possible from the position of a consuming country to that of a producing country. This is precisely the path through which Türkiye will have a say in the future and reach its 2023 and 2071 targets.”

Taking a Continuously Active Role in the Business World Will Bring You Success

MÜSİAD Karadeniz Ereğli President Abdülkadir Çınar, for his part, emphasized the importance they attach to education. In his speech Çınar said, "As the MÜSİAD Kdz. Ereğli branch, which believes that success comes with a good education, it was decided in the 1995-1996 academic year to give awards to the top students of high schools and equivalent schools, and our first award ceremony was held in 1996 with 9 high school valedictorians being rewarded. A total of 111 of our students who ranked in the top three at 37 schools will be rewarded for the successes they have achieved. Through our award ceremony we have rewarded 1,652 of our students to date, trying to honour them at least a little for the successes they have achieved. Considering our targets of a strong Türkiye, it is clear that we must work and produce more, that a great duty falls upon you at this point, and that for this reason we have no time to lose. Taking part in the youth boards of MÜSİAD, which has 86 contact points at home, in the provinces you have gone to for university, and taking a continuously active role in the business world will bring you success" .

Following the speeches, the students who completed the schools affiliated with the Kdz. Ereğli, Alaplı and Akçakoca District Directorates of National Education in the top three places were invited to the stage one by one and were presented their awards by the protocol members attending the ceremony. Certificates of thanks were also presented at the ceremony to the officials of the companies that sponsored the event. The 23rd MÜSİAD Education Achievement Awards ceremony came to an end with a group photograph.
