The press launch meeting of the Power of Türkiye Awards of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) was held. At the program, which will be held at the Atatürk Cultural Centre on 9 May and will take place with Turkcell as the main sponsor, awards will be presented in 9 separate categories nationwide.
MÜSİAD held a press conference announcing that it will hold the Power of Türkiye Awards Ceremony at the İstanbul Atatürk Cultural Centre on 9 May. The Power of Türkiye Awards, to be held for the second time, will also be organized within the scope of the events of MÜSİAD's 34th anniversary week. MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı and Tahir Tuluk, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Power of Türkiye Awards, attended the Power of Türkiye Awards Press Conference.
“We reward production and entrepreneurship and provide motivation”
In his speech at the Power of Türkiye Awards Press Launch Meeting, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı stated that MÜSİAD has always supported production, entrepreneurship, women's employment and values in Türkiye, and noted that with the Power of Türkiye Awards they aim to provide motivation by rewarding this support.
In his speech, President Asmalı said:
“As you all know, there have been many important works and events that MÜSİAD has brought about over the years. In each of them, our priority as MÜSİAD has always been to provide motivation by rewarding production, success, women's enterprise, strong communication and values, academic knowledge, sustainability and transformation, virtuous entrepreneurship — in short, the investment and research activities that create added value for our country.
Today, we will hold on 9 May 2024 at the Atatürk Cultural Centre the new edition of the Power of Türkiye Awards, which brings together the very important awards we have organized for years and which we will hold for the second time this year with a renewed face.
This award ceremony, which will be very comprehensive and highly influential, unites under the roof of the “Power of Türkiye Awards” the “Türkiye Economy Press Awards”, which we have organized 17 times to date, and the “Science and Technology Awards”, which we have organized 6 times in total,” he said.
President Asmalı, stating that the application method for the Power of Türkiye Awards is carried out in two different ways, explained that there are methods of applying as a candidate and of nominating a candidate. He said that, in addition to the applications individuals make for their own companies or enterprises, other brands and individuals can also be nominated.
Also speaking about the jury panel that was formed, Asmalı announced that valued names from academia and the business world are on the jury panel. Saying that the jury panel has also been published on the Power of Türkiye Awards website, Asmalı said, “God willing, after the meeting we are holding today, we will finalize the award winners together with our jury panel by 1 May.”
A total of 420 applications were made
Tahir Tuluk, Chairman of the Executive Board of the MÜSİAD Power of Türkiye Awards, for his part, explained the application process for the Power of Türkiye Awards in his speech at the press conference and gave details about the applications received.
In his speech, Executive Board Chairman Tahir Tuluk said, “Our aim in the Power of Türkiye Awards is to reward the people who contribute to Türkiye's strengthening at local and international level; and to provide moral support by bringing our young entrepreneurs into the showcase.”
Stating that they received a total of around 420 applications, Tuluk noted the following:
“Unlike the previous Power of Türkiye Awards Ceremony, this year we added our Jury Special Award category. Alongside these, our other categories also continue in the same way with a few changes. On 23 February we opened the Applying as a Candidate and Nominating a Candidate sections. Until 14 April, around 420 Candidacy Applications and Candidacy Nominations reached us. According to the very valuable names on our Executive Board and the scoring criteria that were established, at least 5 candidates from each category made it to the final. As a result, an evaluation Jury Panel, formed in line with the recommendations given by the Power of Türkiye Executive Board to the MÜSİAD Board of Directors and composed of different disciplines committed to the principle of impartiality, will decide on rewarding these finalist candidates again according to the same criteria and scoring principles. This too will come to an end as of 1 May, and God willing we will announce the winners of the Power of Türkiye Awards to you with a magnificent ceremony we will hold at the AKM on 9 May.”
Awards will be presented in 9 different national categories
The Power of Türkiye Awards, which will be held at the Atatürk Cultural Centre at 19:00 on 9 May 2024, will also host many guests from the bureaucracy and the diplomatic corps. The Power of Türkiye Awards, to be organized by MÜSİAD for the second time, will present awards in 9 different categories in the national arena. In addition to the awards to be given in the categories of Power of Production, Power of the Young Entrepreneur, Power of Communication, Power of Values, Power of Sustainability, Power of Women, Power of Academia, Power of Transformation and Power of the Brand, the Jury Special Award will also be presented.
