The Advisory Board Meeting of the Qard al-Hasan Fund of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) was held with the participation of President Mahmut Asmalı, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the İlim Yayma Foundation Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Nail Olpak and MÜSİAD Qard al-Hasan Fund Chairman of the Board of Directors Muhammet Ali Özeken.

The current situation of the Qard al-Hasan Fund, which as of September 2023 had reached approximately 2,000 members and a fund size of TRY 25 million, the theoretical and technical problems encountered and the goals for the future were addressed.

In his opening speech, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı once again emphasized that alongside the commercial and economic activities MÜSİAD carries out for Türkiye’s progress and development, it also attaches great importance to social activities. Saying that the Qard al-Hasan practice is a movement of revival of our civilization, Asmalı stated that such practices must become more widespread and increase.

At the meeting, which continued with the presentation of MÜSİAD Qard al-Hasan Chairman of the Board of Directors Muhammet Ali Özeken, the process Qard al-Hasan has gone through up to the present day was addressed, while the difficulties and problems encountered during this process were also voiced and proposed solutions were discussed.

Prof. Dr. Servet Bayındır, meanwhile, presented in his speech the proposal that a basket consisting of certain designated commodities and basic necessities could be constructed and that the inflation in this basket could be taken as the basis when a loan is given.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the İlim Yayma Foundation Bilal Erdoğan, meanwhile, emphasized in his speech that by going down to the foundations of the current economic system, more just and applicable systems must be built. At the meeting, while the other participants also presented their proposals and wishes, consultations were held on making Qard al-Hasan systems more widespread, strengthening them and carrying them further forward in a sustainable manner.
