MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı assessed MÜSİAD's work directed at the disaster region. Stating that members who suffered damage in the provinces affected by the earthquake had been matched with member companies in other provinces, President Asmalı said that production and trade in the region would continue through joint effort.
The Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD), which practically declared a mobilization following the severe earthquakes centred on Kahramanmaraş, is continuing its comprehensive work directed at the provinces affected by the disaster. Having set up a container city, a field hospital, soup kitchens and mobile kitchens in the region, MÜSİAD is continuing its activities alongside these steps in order to meet the needs in the region through logistical work.
At the same time, MÜSİAD, which provides interest-free or grant capital support to its members who suffered damage in the earthquake with the Qard al-Hasan understanding inherited from the culture of solidarity, has taken action to ensure that production and trade in the region continue by matching its members in the disaster region with its members in other provinces.
Making assessments on the subject, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı stated that they had expanded their work so that, alongside meeting humanitarian needs and re-establishing social life, business and commercial life in the region would also be put back on its feet.
Saying that through the member matching system they aimed both to sustain production and to make the suspended commercial activities sustainable by transferring the products in the hands of the members who suffered damage in the region to the facilities of members in other provinces, President Asmalı said, "With the understanding of one and together, each of our members is shouldering the burden and lending support to a brother in difficulty."
MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı made the following statements in his remarks:
"Our humanitarian aid work directed at our citizens affected by the earthquake in the disaster region is continuing. We are maintaining our logistical support without interruption through our domestic and international organizations in order to meet the urgent needs in the region. In order to put business and commercial life in the region back on its feet, we are providing capital support to our members in the region through the MÜSİAD Qard al-Hasan Fund. At this point, we also made a call to our business world for the Qard al-Hasan understanding to be supported and spread. In addition, we are carrying out a matching that will sustain production by transferring the raw materials and products held by our business people and industrialists whose production facilities or workplaces in the region were damaged to the facilities of our members in our other provinces. The survey work directed at our companies affected by the earthquake will also be an important step towards identifying urgent needs and resolving problems. Our teams are continuing their work to reduce the risks that may be faced by our members whose domestic and foreign commercial activity has been suspended because of the earthquake and who are unable to ship their supplies or their products."
