The 109th General Administrative Board of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) was held at the MÜSİAD Head Office in İstanbul. At the program, which the Minister of Interior of the Republic of Türkiye Ali Yerlikaya also attended on the final day of the two-day board meeting, presidents and MÜSİAD members from 80 branches came together.
The MÜSİAD 109th General Administrative Board was held in İstanbul with the participation of the Minister of Interior of the Republic of Türkiye Ali Yerlikaya. More than 300 MÜSİAD members came together at the two-day event and plans for 2024-2025 were made.
The closing program of the event, attended by the presidents, deputy presidents, representatives and members of MÜSİAD's 80 domestic branches, was completed with the participation of the Minister of Interior of the Republic of Türkiye Ali Yerlikaya.
Minister Yerlikaya made the following statements in his speech at the program:
“We continue to work with the entire business world for our country. The work we carry out not only ensures the welfare of our society but also contributes to our business world. We do this and put it forward by coming together with all segments in our country. The activities MÜSİAD has carried out for Türkiye for 34 years have been instrumental in our reaching significant employment rates. I sincerely congratulate the MÜSİAD community and its members for the contributions they have made to our country.”
While making statements on the purpose of MÜSİAD's work, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı also emphasized the Medium-Term Program (OVP), which was announced anew in its updated form. President Asmalı made the following statements in his speech:
“As we all know, MÜSİAD has always undertaken productive and pioneering work. The MÜSİAD family has an outlook that works harder each day than the day before, produces more value and provides added value for our country. That is precisely why MÜSİAD is the most productive and hardest-working business organization in our country.
This is why MÜSİAD members, who have a domestic and national vision, are devoted above all to producing added value for our country and our nation. This is why there is a need to carry out work that contributes to and strengthens our government's “Century of Türkiye” vision, first and foremost in the economy.
At precisely this point, I hope that our Medium-Term Program, announced in recent days, will also contribute in economic terms to the “Century of Türkiye” vision.”
“Migration is in fact not a problem but a process that needs to be managed well”
In his speech at the program, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı emphasized Türkiye's migration issue and announced that a report titled the Türkiye Migration Report will soon be published by MÜSİAD. Explaining that migration is in fact not a problem but only a process that needs to be managed well, Asmalı emphasized that, rather than migration now appearing as a source of problems, gains should be secured for the country by managing the process correctly.
Asmalı made the following statements in his speech:
“As you know, merely speaking of issues is not a method of producing policy. If we analyse problems within a cause-and-effect relationship and put them in their proper place, only then does it yield efficiency and can we produce added value for our country. We must see our country's potential well, produce rational strategies and implement the decisions we take under the guidance of technology.
With this perspective, as MÜSİAD we have prepared “Türkiye's Migration Report”. We will soon share with the public our report, which carries the subtitle “Understanding and Managing Migration”.
In this report, for which we will hold a launch meeting in the coming days, we express that the phenomenon of migration is in fact not a problem but a process that needs to be managed well. When we present the phenomenon of migration as a problem from the very outset, we leave many issues as they are and bring no solution. Yet what we call migration is like a river: if it is managed well, it means abundance and blessing for everyone. But if it is managed badly, it becomes a flood and sweeps away everything in its path. We must first of all become aware of this and position ourselves accordingly.”
The two-day 109th General Administrative Board program came to an end following the closing dinner held with the participation of more than 300 MÜSİAD members.
