On the first day of the programme organized on 24-27 November 2021 under the leadership of Young MÜSİAD President Yunus Furkan Akbal, Lisbon Commercial Counsellor Gülsüm Aktaş gave an analysis presentation to the Young MÜSİAD delegation on trade in Lisbon and relations with Türkiye.
Following the presentation, Ambassador to Portugal Lale Ülker was visited in her office together with Commercial Counsellor Gülsüm Aktaş and the delegation attending from Türkiye, and during the visit to the Ambassador a presentation was also made in which commercial relations between Portugal and Türkiye, business opportunities and investment recommendations to the participants were given. Following the presentation, which attracted the interest of the participating delegation, one-to-one talks were held with Ambassador Ülker and advice was obtained from her. Holding consultations with Vice President Jorge Pais in order to develop joint projects during its visit to the Lisbon Chamber of Commerce, the heart of Portuguese trade, the Young MÜSİAD delegation held talks in which agreement was reached on taking the trade volume between the two countries to a higher level. Finding the opportunity to examine on site the Yılport Port, a Turkish investment which is also among the first in Europe with its fully automated logistics services, the Young MÜSİAD delegation obtained views from the company that undertakes the logistics operation of 700,000 tons of products annually. The company also draws attention as one of the country's largest foreign investments.
On the third day of the business programme, it evaluated the business and investment opportunities in the city of Coimbra, one of Portugal's important trade destinations, together with Camara de Comercıo e Industria Do Centro (CEC) Chamber of Commerce President Jose Couto and his delegation. Within the framework of the programme, a visit was also made to the IPN (INSTITUTO PEDRO NUNES) incubation centre, one of Portugal's most important start-up ecosystems. At the facility where 3 of Portugal's 6 Unicorns were founded, various consultations were held so that software exports could also be carried out from Türkiye.
