MÜSİAD EXPO 2020, held this year with the slogan ‘Global Trade Is Here’, today hosted President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Receiving detailed information about MÜSİAD EXPO, which has the distinction of being Türkiye’s first hybrid fair, President Erdoğan underlined the importance of the fair for the country’s economy in his speech.

MÜSİAD EXPO, the International Economy, Finance and Trade Summit organized every two years by the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD), is being held at the TÜYAP Fair and Congress Centre in 10 halls over an area of 70,000 square metres.

Visiting the fair, which has the distinction of being Türkiye’s first hybrid fair, President Erdoğan received information about the event.

“We are determined to turn this process into an opportunity”

Stressing the importance of the hybrid fair, held in line with the Hygiene, Mask and Distance rule, for keeping production, trade, exports and employment running without interruption, President Erdoğan underlined that they are determined to turn this process into an opportunity by assessing the conditions in the most accurate way.

During his visit, Erdoğan said the following in his speech:

“Türkiye has set itself positively apart in the fight against the pandemic even from the world’s most developed countries and has demonstrated the strength of its infrastructure. In the economy, we are trying to keep production, exports, trade and employment on their feet by offering support to every segment and by mobilizing our means. We will stand by everyone who sets out with this aim. At this point, we were pleased that MÜSİAD supported its members in difficulty through the Qard al-Hasan fund it established.”

Underlining that they will mobilize domestic and international entrepreneurs and ensure the acceleration of investments that will produce lasting results in production and employment, Erdoğan said, "We are ready to walk this path together with everyone who believes in Türkiye's strength, potential and future."

In his speech at MÜSİAD EXPO, Erdoğan also stated that they are making preparations that will both fortify economic policies, raise the bar for democracy and freedoms, and bring relief to the daily life of the nation.

Kaan: “We are with you with all our means and strength in the mobilization you have launched”

“Even in these days when the pandemic still maintains its effect, the EXPO we organize in order to be the language of communication and the bridge of our country’s economy in the fields of trade and investment has this year consolidated its strong brand image not only as the fair with the widest participation during the pandemic period, but also by achieving many firsts,” said MÜSİAD President Abdurrahman Kaan, who continued his speech as follows:

At our fair, which saw stand participation from many countries from Venezuela to Uzbekistan and from Indonesia to Germany, the intense demand from European, Asia-Pacific, Eurasian, African and MENA countries encourages us in supporting our country’s new-era investment policies. In these days when visits by nearly 15,000 visitors from 125 countries and by millions of participants in the virtual environment are taking place, and when we are renewing our national macro policies in the name of production, trade, investment and employment, it makes us happy that we too have a hand in the matter.”

Saying that they will do whatever they can, through both macro policies and legal reforms, to increase Türkiye’s production and industrialization power, above all in investments, and to place its monetary strength on the line it deserves, Kaan said, “With the awareness that a country whose economy is not strong cannot protect its gains in other fields, as MÜSİAD we are with you with all our means and strength in the mobilization you have launched with a focus on a new stability, growth and employment.”
