Representatives of foreign missions serving in Türkiye came together at the iftar programme held at the MÜSİAD Head Office. Speaking at the event, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı pointed to the importance of commercial diplomacy activities and said, "As MÜSİAD, we support cultural diplomacy by contributing to commercial diplomacy and to the cooperation between our countries".
At the iftar programme held at the Head Office of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD), ambassadors, consuls general, commercial attachés and representatives of foreign missions in various posts from 40 countries came together with MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı and members of the MÜSİAD Board of Directors. Sharing his assessments at the event, MÜSİAD President Mahmut Asmalı drew attention to the importance of MÜSİAD's work in the field of commercial diplomacy. Emphasizing that MÜSİAD supports commercial and cultural diplomacy, President Asmalı stated that the activities carried out make an important contribution to cooperation between countries.
"It is not possible to reach economic targets without establishing global peace"
Stating that MÜSİAD is a global civil society organization that directly contributes to Türkiye's entrepreneurial and humanitarian foreign policy through its international work, President Asmalı pointed to the importance of regional and global peace in order to reach economic targets. In his assessment, the MÜSİAD President said, "It is never possible to reach economic targets without establishing regional and global peace".
President Mahmut Asmalı continued as follows:
"MÜSİAD is a global civil society organization that contributes to our country's entrepreneurial and humanitarian foreign policy through its international work and that effectively implements multi-track diplomacy. We support humanitarian diplomacy by backing projects directed at crisis regions and geographies struck by natural disasters, commercial diplomacy by developing economic relations, and cultural diplomacy by contributing to the cooperation between our countries. Carrying the ancient cultural codes of Anatolia, our members, who have spread to the four corners of the world to do business, work in this respect by acting like diplomats. As business people, we strive to enrich and expand Türkiye's peace-building capacity. As MÜSİAD, we too support and work in line with the expressions and theses 'The World is Bigger than Five' and 'A More Just World is Possible', which our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan voices at every opportunity. For it is never possible to reach economic targets without establishing regional and global peace. The change of the current international system, which cannot produce justice, is inevitable. We must all work together for this and raise our voice. In a world that has lost its compassion, we are obliged to be the voice of compassion and conscience. In Palestine, Kashmir, Yemen, Syria and Ukraine, millions of people are in the position of victims, the oppressed, migrants or refugees… Anti-Islamism or Islamophobia, which is a hate crime, is spreading like an epidemic in Western countries… In short, humanity is in need of peace, justice and compassion… Yes, a more just world is possible; provided that we sincerely want it and all strive together for it…"
"We are after all possible new export markets, from Europe to America, from Asia to Africa"
Emphasizing that with its competitive and high-quality production power Türkiye is after all possible new export markets, from Europe to America and from Asia to Africa, President Asmalı said that with the 2nd Turkish-Arab Business Summit and MÜSİAD EXPO 2022 they aim to further strengthen Türkiye's global trade network.
In his statement, President Asmalı made the following remarks:
"Thanks to its competitive and high-quality production power, the technical infrastructure it possesses and its qualified workforce in different sectors, Türkiye is advancing towards a future far brighter than today. For our exports to record a permanent increase, for us to attain the status of a country with a foreign trade surplus and for sustainable growth, we are after all possible new export markets, from Europe to America and from Asia to Africa. We have 2 important international organizations ahead of us. The first is the 2nd Turkish-Arab Business Summit, to be held in Gaziantep between 10 and 13 June, hosted by MÜSİAD, in cooperation with the International Business Forum (IBF) and with the contributions of the Ministry of Trade. The second is MÜSİAD EXPO 2022, to be held between 2 and 5 November. We await you and international companies at these two giant organizations where the pulse of the economy, trade and industry will beat. Within the framework of all these events, we will further accelerate the process of putting new investment projections into operation. However, in order not to lose while winning, we will act with an understanding that protects our values of civilization and the nature and environment entrusted to us."
