In December 2023, the seasonally and calendar adjusted SAMEKS Composite Index gained 3.1 points of momentum compared with the previous month and maintained its course above the reference value at 54.9 points. Thus the SAMEKS Composite Index, rising to its highest level of the last 6 months, closed 2023 with an average of 52.6 points and confirmed the growth in the Turkish economy.

In this period the Industry Sector SAMEKS Index recorded an increase of 5.3 points compared with the previous month, rising to a level of 57.8, while the Services Sector SAMEKS Index also gained 1.4 points of pace compared with the previous month and rose to a value of 52.8.

With the increase recorded in new orders for the industry sector, it was seen that input purchases and the increase in production gained pace. In the services sector, with input purchases maintaining their strong course, business volume began to rise again.

Thus the Industry Sector SAMEKS Index, reaching its highest level of the last 6 months, pointed to an upward trend throughout the final quarter; it closed 2023 with an average of 53.7 points. Similarly, in December the Services Sector SAMEKS Index also reached its highest level of the last 6 months, capturing an average of 52.1 points in 2023.
