In October 2023, the seasonally and calendar adjusted SAMEKS Composite Index lost 0.4 points of momentum compared to the previous month and continued its course above the reference value at 50.7 points.

In this period, the Services Sector SAMEKS Index rose to the level of 50.5, recording an increase of 0.6 points compared to the previous month. The Industry Sector SAMEKS Index, on the other hand, lost 2.7 points of speed compared to the previous month and stood at the level of 50.8.

While the increase in input purchases in the services sector maintained its high level, business volume presented a stagnant picture; in the industry sector, the decline observed in new orders was the determining factor of the loss of momentum observed across the sector, above all in production. In October, when supply problems were observed across both sectors, losses in employment compared to the previous month also drew attention.

Thus, the seasonally and calendar adjusted SAMEKS Composite Index, which stood just above the reference value at 50.7 points, indicated that the pace of growth slowed in this period.
