In September 2022, the seasonally and calendar adjusted SAMEKS Composite Index rose by 3.2 points compared with the previous month to a value of 52.8.

This development was driven by the Services Sector SAMEKS Index recording an increase of 1.6 points and rising to the level of 51.1. In the increase observed in the services sector, the recovery observed in business volume together with the strong course of input purchases came to the fore.

The Industry Sector SAMEKS Index, on the other hand, recorded an increase of 5.9 points at once compared with the previous month and rose to the level of 56.8, carrying its course above the reference value into its 14th consecutive month. In this period, new orders that gained momentum caused industrial production to increase visibly.

The SAMEKS Composite Index, which had been on an uninterrupted upward trend in the January-July period of 2022, came in below 50 points in August, indicating that economic activity had lost momentum in that period. Thus the index value for September, which rose by 3.2 points to the level of 52.8, indicated that economic activity had regained vitality.
