In June 2024, the seasonally and calendar adjusted SAMEKS Composite Index gained 7.4 points of momentum compared with the previous month, rose to a value of 55.1 and once again stood above the reference value.
In this period the Services Sector SAMEKS Index recorded an increase of 8.2 points compared with the previous month and rose to the level of 57.3. In the services sector, business volume expanded and an increase in employment was observed as input purchases recorded a rapid increase.
The Industry Sector SAMEKS Index also gained 8.7 points of pace compared with the previous month and stood at the level of 54.0. The marked increase in new orders compared with the previous month was the determinant of the recovery across the sector, led by the expansion observed in production.
Thus SAMEKS, which fell below the reference value last month and pointed to stagnation in economic activity, gained momentum again in June and presented a lively outlook for the markets. While expenditures such as food, travel, holidays and clothing, which increased with the nine-day Eid al-Adha holiday, were influential in the development in question, the seasonally and calendar adjusted SAMEKS Composite Index, which left the second quarter of the year behind with an average of 53.3 points, pointed to the fact that the positive growth process in the economy continues.
