In June 2023 the seasonally and calendar adjusted SAMEKS Composite Index continued its course above the reference value at 55.6 points, despite having lost 0.4 points of momentum compared with the previous month.

In this period the Services Sector SAMEKS Index rose to the level of 54.3, recording an increase of 0.6 points compared with the previous month. The Industry Sector SAMEKS Index, on the other hand, continued to record an increase at 58.8 points, despite having lost 2.4 points of pace.

While the developments recorded by SAMEKS for both the industry and the services sectors show that vitality in economic activity is continuing, it was notable that production gained pace and employment growth continued in the industry sector, whereas business volume contracted and employment declined compared with the previous month in the services sector.

Thus the seasonally and calendar adjusted SAMEKS Composite Index, which left the first quarter of the year behind with an average of 51.9 points and pointed to the continuation of the positive growth process in the Turkish economy, increased its momentum in the 2nd quarter and, with an average of 56.0 points for this period, signalled that growth had gained pace.
