In July 2024, the seasonally and calendar adjusted SAMEKS Composite Index decreased by 9.3 points compared with the previous month, falling to 45.6, and stood below the reference value.
In this period, the Services Sector SAMEKS Index recorded a decrease of 10.9 points compared with the previous month, falling to the level of 46.3. The Industry Sector SAMEKS Index also lost 4.3 points of momentum compared with the previous month and stood at the level of 49.5.
A contraction in business volume was recorded in the services sector owing to the rapid loss of momentum in input purchases. In the industry sector, the decrease of new orders compared with the previous month and their fall below the reference value caused production and input purchases for the sector to decline.
Thus the fall of the seasonally and calendar adjusted SAMEKS Composite Index by 9.3 points at once in July to the level of 45.6 indicated that monetary tightening conditions have begun to become evident in the real sector.
