In February 2024, the seasonally and calendar adjusted SAMEKS Composite Index lost 0.7 points of momentum compared with the previous month and stood at 50.6 points, just above the reference value. The decline of the Industry Sector SAMEKS Index by 4.3 points compared with the previous month to 49.9 points was influential in this development. The Services Sector SAMEKS Index, on the other hand, although it recorded an increase of 0.1 points compared with the previous month, stood at 49.7 and thus remained below the reference value in this period as well.

While the contraction recorded in production with the sharp fall in new orders was influential in the decrease observed in the industry sector, in the flat course followed by the services sector the stagnant picture observed in the sector's business volume came to the fore.
As a result of these developments, the SAMEKS Composite Index, which stood at 50.6, indicated that economic activity presented a lively outlook for February, but that a loss of momentum was experienced compared with the previous month.
