As the Sector Boards and Fair Forum Commission, the regional meetings organized by our sector boards continue. Within this scope, the Services Sector Board held its 5th Regional Meeting in Elazığ. The meeting, organized for the purpose of getting acquainted and holding consultations, was attended by the branch presidents of the branches located in the 5th region, the services sector board chairmen and sector members. While the participants evaluated current issues related to the sector, cooperation opportunities were also put on the table.
At the meeting held under the hosting of the MÜSİAD Elâzığ branch by the delegation consisting of MÜSİAD Services Sector Board Chairman Ali Tutuk and the accompanying sector board members, acquaintance and consultation were carried out with the members of the region. Consultations were held on issues such as the situation of the sector in the region, the current situation of the sector, sectoral problems and proposed solutions.
While the difficulties faced by the region and the current situation specific to the service sector were addressed, an important exchange of views was held on the food safety issues experienced particularly in the gastronomy sector in recent days, and the importance of these problems faced by the sector and their solutions were emphasized. After the meeting, an opportunity was found to examine on site the problems and developments in the region through member workplace visits and field visits.
MÜSİAD Services Sector Board Chairman Ali Tutuk said that in the sector report titled 'Gastronomy in the New Century: Change and Transformation in the Food and Beverage Sector', which they prepared as the Services Sector Board, the headings of digitalization, sustainability and innovation were addressed in detail with the aim of raising Türkiye's competitiveness in local and international markets. Türkiye's rich culinary culture and geographical advantages offer great potential for making our gastronomy sector an important player worldwide; in addition, while the report emphasized the profound changes in consumer behaviour, the effect of agricultural policies on the sector and the strategic importance of cooperation between the state and the private sector, the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and other global economic crises were also analysed in depth.
Emphasizing that such meetings strengthen sectoral solidarity and create an important ground for developing joint projects, Tutuk said, The coming together of all the stakeholders in the region is of great importance in solving sectoral problems. By acting together, we can reach a stronger future.
