The Food, Agriculture and Livestock 1st Region Sector Consultation Meeting was held under the hosting of our MÜSİAD Bursa Branch. At the meeting, which attracted intense interest from our sector representatives, strategic moves that will carry production and trade in 3 fields forward were discussed.

At the MÜSİAD Bursa Food, Agriculture and Livestock 1st Region Sector Consultation Meeting, where strategic and innovative solutions for the food, agriculture and livestock sector, which has been of critical importance in every period of history, were addressed, views were exchanged on digital technologies and sustainable production methods.

Şenocak emphasizes "Conscious Agriculture"

Stating that they are very pleased to hold the first regional sectoral consultation and solidarity meeting in Bursa, and expressing that the Food, Agriculture and Livestock First Region Sector Consultation Meeting is an event capable of giving direction to the sectors, MÜSİAD Bursa Branch Chairman of the Board of Directors Alparslan Şenocak said, “Our paradise-like country is one of the world's most important agricultural producers with its fertile soil and climate conditions. The use of applications involving technology and innovation in the agriculture, food and livestock sector, however, is not yet at the desired level. With domestic technologies to be developed by taking into account the geographical, human and economic conditions specific to our country, we can reach a much more advanced position in the agricultural sector. On this road to success, our sector-focused activities carry strategic importance. In this context, I would particularly like to state that directing our well-equipped young people towards agricultural production is very beneficial and very apt for our future. We believe that very fine days await our country thanks to the conscious agriculture mobilization.”

"Production per square metre must be increased"

Noting that with the pandemic the supply chain of agriculture and food was disrupted and that they became a strategic issue for countries, MÜSİAD Agriculture, Food and Livestock Sector Board Chairman Cemal Özen said, “While we rank 20th-21st in the world in economic terms, we rank 10th in agricultural output. Under the leadership of our esteemed President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we have the potential to enter the top 5 in a short time. As the Central Sector Board, we are carrying out important work on how we can enter this top 5. For agriculture to improve in our country, production per square metre needs to be increased. The supports and incentives in our country are above the world average, yet despite this we cannot increase production. Because production per square metre needs to be increased. In this context, it is important that incentives translate solely into production. In addition to ensuring land consolidation, it is also essential that we draw our young people into agricultural production. We need to give weight to projects that transform our cities into technology-intensive agricultural cities and that focus on planned agriculture. It is also important at this point that products needed by the domestic market are not used for export.”

The bonds among members are growing stronger

MÜSİAD Bursa Branch Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors Halil Atalay, for his part, said, “Addressing the subject of food in the light of current data, evaluating and improving sector activities in a multifaceted way, identifying problems and presenting them to the competent authorities together with proposed solutions, and following them up, are the basic objectives of our Sector Board. We have made it our mission to strengthen the social and commercial bonds among our members.”

MÜSİAD Bursa Branch Agriculture, Food and Livestock Sector Board Chairman Tayfun Kurdal, stating that agricultural production takes place in close to 40 percent of Bursa, expressed that sustainability-focused work should be carried out and technology should be used more effectively in order to develop this potential.

At the meeting, MÜSİAD Agriculture, Food and Livestock Sector Board Deputy Chairman Emrullah Gökhan gave a presentation describing the work carried out by the Head Office, and said that the decisions taken at the meeting serve as a guide in resolving sectoral problems.

At the end of the meeting, Cemal Özen presented Alparslan Şenocak with an Orphan Sponsor Card representing the covering of all the needs of 1 orphan for 6 months. Şenocak, in turn, presented Özen with a gift in memory of the day. İstanbul Chamber of Commerce Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Ahmet Özer, 24th Term AK Party Bursa Deputy Önder Matlı, MÜSİAD Düzce Branch Chairman of the Board of Directors Özgür Sağlam and MÜSİAD Bandırma Branch Chairman of the Board of Directors Tolga Tetik also attended the event.
